Evan took the tissue and roughly wiped Caroline’s hand, causing her skin to sting. She wanted to pull

arm away, but Evan snapped, “Try moving again!”

Evan tossed the wet tissue out of the window. “I never interfered in your relationship with Neil. So why

you keep meeting Casey?”

Caroline was now agitated. “Why should you control me when Neil doesn’t?”

Evan’s eyes held a hint of pain as he questioned, “Why do you insist on meeting him?”

Caroline’s eyes widened slowly as Evan’s words shocked her. She began to realize the extent of her

importance to him since he reacted so strongly to her interactions with Casey.

Caroline shivered, realizing that Casey intentionally used her to push Evan’s buttons.

Caroline was unable to meet Evan’s pained gaze, and her heart ached. She looked down and said

to the journalist.”
