Chapter 644
Trapped in Love
Chapter 644 Meeting Them Sooner or Later
Neil smiled and said, âLia looks like me.â
Caroline chuckled, âI forgot to mention, this is my brother. You remember him, right? Youâve worked at Xander Residence for so long. You
must have taken care of Neil, too.â
Just as Carolineâs voice faded, Tyler suddenly spoke.
Caroline turned and followed Tylerâs gaze to Liora, who stood there absentmindedly. âLia? Whatâs going
on?â
Liora stretched her hand to point at the photo on the tombstone, but she stopped herself, thinking it would be inappropriate.
âNothing.â Liora shook her head.
The person in the photo seemed familiar, but she couldnât recall where she had seen them before.
âWas it in a dream?â she wondered.
Liora stared at the photo with her head tilted until Caroline finished her visit.
Caroline stood up and said, âThereâs another graveyard next door. Jamie is buried there, and Iâd also like
to visit her.â
âSure. Iâll carry you, Axel,â Neil replied as he picked up Axel.
Axel didnât decline the offer. After all, he was tired from walking due to his recent hospitalization. They
soon got into the car.
They drove to the graveyard where Jamie was buried.
Caroline noticed a figure in the distance before they reached the area. A man in a black overcoat with a
straight posture was standing in front of a tombstone. He was surrounded by mist, adding a touch of
loneliness to his presence.
Caroline could tell it was Evan.
âI didnât expect him to be here so early,â Neil exclaimed.
Caroline looked away. âIn his opinion, his mother was his only family member.â
Yet, the person Evan valued the most had no regard for him. Caroline had her mother and Lily, who loved
her. In fact, even Jamie treated her well. What did Evan have? He had nothing but money and status.

Caroline exhaled and got out of the car.
Neil wanted to join her, but she stopped him. âIâll go. Please wait for me in the car with the children, Neil.â
Neil didnât comment further and nodded as he passed the bouquet to her. She turned and walked over to Evan. Her footsteps on the lawn were
clearly audible. He turned and locked eyes with her. She could see the loneliness in his eyes and felt her heart ache.
She stood next to Evan and placed the bouquet before the tombstone. âIâm here to visit Jamie,â Caroline said.
âWhy didnât you sleep in? You had a long night,â Evan asked hoarsely.
Caroline stood upright. âI wanted to visit them first thing today. Theyâre my family, after all.â
Evan noticed Carolineâs reddened nose and pulled up her scarf due to the cold. âYou should dress
warmer.â
Caroline was briefly stunned before pushing up her scarf and saying, âHmm, I have one more graveyard to visit later.â
âAre you visiting your biological parents?â Evan asked nonchalantly.
Caroline nodded. âYes, so I wonât stay here long.â
Evanâs gaze landed on Jamieâs photo, and he said, âIâll come with you.â
âNo-â
âDonât reject me,â Evan interrupted before Caroline could finish her sentence.
She looked at him in astonishment. Il visit my parents by myself.â
âIâm meeting them sooner or later,â Evan blurted before walking back to his car.
Caroline watched his silhouette depart and thought, âI havenât agreed to be with you yet, right?â
Noticing that Caroline didnât follow, Evan stopped walking and turned. âDonât you think I should visit Axelâs grandparents too?â
