Chapter 645
Trapped in Love
Chapter 645 We Donât Believe That
Caroline blushed and thought, âWhat was I thinking?
âIâm going with my brother. Heâs waiting in the car,â Caroline informed.
Evan remained silent but reached for his phone to make a call.
He said, âFollow Carolineâs car. Iâm going with them.â
After hanging up, he asked Caroline, âYou donât mind me tagging along, right?â
Caroline looked at him in shock. He was demanding to come along even though he had a car, and he hadnât sought her approval. Could she still
reject him now?
They all got into the car, and Evan was visibly surprised to see the three children.
Caroline explained, âItâs lucky we took the MPV today. Otherwise, you wouldnât have a place to sit. I brought the children so they could visit
my parents.â
She turned to Neil and said, âNeil, he wants to join because heâs Axelâs father, after all.â
Neil didnât say much after hearing Carolineâs remark.
Liora clung to Evan while he played with her.
Neil whispered to Caroline, âI didnât expect him to be so patient with children.â
In frustration, Caroline said, âI donât know when he started being so gentle with Ty and Lia. He used to call them bastardsâ¦â
Neil frowned. âIs it because he found something?â
âI donât think so. He would have asked me if he found out about it,â Caroline said.
âThat makes sense.â
Twenty minutes later, Caroline got out of the car with the children while Evan carried Axel and joined Neil
in getting out of the car.
An elderly man with a hunched back, wearing an old gray coat, was sweeping at the graveyardâs entrance. When he heard the commotion, he
turned to look at the newcomers.
Neil greeted him, âHello, Benjamin. Weâre here to visit.â

Neil introduced him, âCaroline, this is Benjamin, the gravekeeper.â
Carol looked at the man named Benjamin.
Liora broke free from her hold and hid behind Caroline before she could see Benjamin, which startled
Caroline a bit.
Benjamin appeared to be around 60 years old, with sallow, deeply wrinkled skin and a permanently
hunched back, even when he stood upright. But the most shocking thing about him was his eyes: one was
normal, while the other only had whites. He exuded a gloomy presence even in the daytime.
Caroline was also startled but didnât show any dramatic reaction. She held Lioraâs hand tightly and smiled
at Benjamin. âIâm sorry for intruding so early in the morning. Benjamin.â
Benjamin stared at Caroline indifferently, and Liora was so scared that she hid behind her.
He said, âThe child is not allowed to enter.â
Caroline looked at Neil in astonishment. The latter shook his head, showing his confusion about the
situation.
Caroline asked respectfully, âWhy is the child not allowed to go. Benjamin?â
Benjamin explained, âHer body is too weak, and she might attract unknown entities. Besides, the sun isnât
out yet, so itâs not suitable for her to be here.â
Caroline smiled upon hearing Benjaminâs explanation. âWe donât believe that.â
Benjamin looked away and continued to sweep. âAs you wish, then.â
Caroline didnât comment further but walked to the graveyard after nodding to Benjamin. She followed
Neil to the tombstones. Liora let go of Carolineâs hand and ran over to hold Evanâs hand.
She stood on her tiptoes and clutched Evanâs top, softly begging, âCan you carry me? Itâs cold out hereâ¦
Evan frowned and put Axel down. âAxel, stand here for a while.â
Axel obediently nodded. âCarry Lia, Daddy.â
Evan carried Liora, and she buried herself in his arms, avoiding looking at the tombstones. Neil and
Caroline were too distracted to notice Lioraâs condition.
