Suddenly, Evan bent over and carried Caroline from the sofa.

Keeping his head hung, Evan stared at Caroline icily and demanded, “I’ll make you doze off in exhaustion

Calmly, Evan remarked, “Well, it’s expected.”

“We’ve lost an eyewitness.” Neil sounded a little frustrated. “I didn’t expect your father to act so fast. When can we bring him to justice, Evan?”

Evan sneered coldly. “The day after tomorrow. I’ll have a press conference and drive him out of MK.”

“I’m afraid you alone can’t decide it,” Neil said. “We need the shareholders‘ help.”

“You and Caroline just need to sit back and relax while watching him being punished.”

Neil didn’t know what Evan was up to, but he knew that Evan always kept his word.

Stunned, Reuben asked, “Are you referring to the shareholders who are still on your father’s side, Mr.

Jordan?”

“Yes, tie them up and bring them there if they refuse. They must be there at five o’clock sharp.”

“Understood, Mr. Jordan.”

Caroline came out from her bath half an hour later.

Evan sat outside and waited patiently. When he saw her come out with drenched hair, he approached her

and pulled her back to the bathroom.

Lifting her head to him, she asked, “What are you doing?”

Evan bent down and fished out a hair dryer. Then he pulled Caroline over and stood behind her. “You can’t

come out like that even if there’s a heater in the room.”

Caroline blushed. “I know, but I want to have some water because I’m thirsty.”

Evan turned on the hair dryer and gently touched her long hair.

When Caroline saw his serious look in the mirror, she felt a great sense of security.

“I guess I won’t come home early tonight. You don’t have to wait for me,” Evan reminded tenderly.

Awkwardly, Caroline looked down. “When did I say I wanted to wait for you…”

Evan stopped and put the hairdryer down before turning her over to face her.
