Daniella’s resentment surged, and her expression quickly changed. “What does it have to do with you?

Who are you to criticize me here?”

Paige fired back, undeterred. “I’m not as shameless as you. Despite being with Mr. Jordan, you still

hooked up with another man.”

Daniella shot a fierce glare at Paige. “You better shut the fuck up! I’ll give you a tight slap if you don’t

shut up.”

Unfazed, Paige raised her chin calmly. “Go ahead. I’m right here. Let’s see who ends up being slapped.

I can’t believe the Xanders are blind enough to accept a deceitful woman like you as their family. You’re

cunning and scheming. Nobody knows if you tampered with the DNA test report.

Daniella trembled with anger. “You! Cut the crap!”

Paige retorted, “Oh, look at how desperate you’ve become. I was right! You’re a phony!”

Caroline’s head throbbed from their argument. “Paige, let’s not argue with her. It’s pointless.”

Paige acquiesced. “Fine, I’ll listen to you. Arguing with a fool will only make me a fool.”

With that, she grabbed her bag. “I’m leaving. I’ll text you.”

Caroline nodded and watched Paige leave the room.

Then, her gaze fell on Daniella, whose face was livid with rage.

Caroline spoke coldly, “Is there anything else?”

Daniella sneered, “Caroline, you’re just a nobody to me. You better know your place, or my grandpa

won’t let a homewrecker like you off the hook.”

Caroline smirked. “Please ask your grandpa to deal with Evan first.”

Enraged, Daniella lunged toward Caroline, raising her hand to slap her.

But before she could make contact, someone intervened and tried to stop her at the door.

“Ms. Love!” Lily called out urgently, blocking Daniella’s path. She then stepped forward, standing

protectively in front of Caroline. “Ms. Love, Mr. Jordan will be furious if you do this.”

Daniella glared fiercely at Lily before delivering a slap to her face. The sound echoed through the room,

causing Caroline’s eyes to widen in shock.

In an instant, a vivid memory flashed in Caroline’s mind–a scene where her mother was berated and

humiliated by others.

She pushed the blanket aside and dragged her weary body out of bed. Stepping forward, she

approached Daniella with a cold expression. “Apologize to Lily!”

Daniella was taken aback by Caroline’s icy and stern gaze, taking a couple of steps back in slight

fear.

“Do you expect me to apologize? Dream on!”

In a swift motion, Caroline extended her hand, gripping Daniella’s long hair tightly. With great force, she

made Daniella bend over, eliciting a scream of pain.

Caroline’s eyes burned with deep anger. “I’ll ask you again. Are you going to apologize?”

“No, I won’t. Caroline, how dare you do this to me! My grandpa won’t let you get away with it! Ah…”

Caroline firmly grasped Daniella’s long hair and forcefully slammed her to the floor. She then

swiftly straddled Daniella’s body and delivered a series of slaps.

“I told you to apologize. Now!”

Caroline continued to slap her, unable to contain her rage. In the midst of it, Lily rushed forward,

pleading desperately.

“Ms. Shenton, stop slapping her, please.”

However, something seemed to possess Caroline, preventing her from stopping. She couldn’t control

herself. After repeatedly slapping Daniella, a sudden angry roar from behind broke through the chaos.

“Caroline!”

Caroline abruptly halted, a moment of clarity washing over her.

As she looked at Daniella’s tear–streaked, red and swollen face, her resentment seemed to subside.

She clenched her jaw and stood up, still gripping Daniella’s long hair tightly.

Turning around, she stared at Evan with cold eyes. “What’s the matter? Do you feel sorry for her?”
