Minerval was stunned when she saw that Isadora was there, she looked at Isadora politely. "Miss, I...don't know you. Have
we...met before?"
Isadora originally wanted to find some traces of Holden's dashing appearance in Minerva. However, when she saw Minerva,
Isadora was extremely disappointed. Holden was very good looking. Even if he was among a group of men, he would still be a
handsome man. Holden's appearance could even be said to be comparable to Sebastian's. Both of them were equally matched,
and each of them had his unique characteristics. However, never would Isadora expect that Minerva would be so ugly.
"What's the matter, miss?" Minerva still asked without being arrogant or humble.
An indescribable bitterness suddenly emerged in Isadora's heart. That was a kind of bitterness from never being able to have
Holden anymore. Minerva had such an ugly and unpleasant face, but Holden still loved this niece of his so much. That clearly
meant that Holden had valued familial affection very much. Isadora then missed Holden even more, with tears welled up in her
eyes, she handed a package to Minerva. Only then did she say with a hoarse voice, "I had made a trip abroad a few days ago
and had brought something back. These...are what your Uncle Holden had left to you. It's a cheque of ten million dollars and also
some of his belongings." 1
"What?" Tears gushed down from Minerva's eyes.
After taking a pause, she looked at Minerva with an incredulous expression again. "Miss, what are you talking about? How...did
you know my Uncle Holden? Is he stilL.alive?"
In fact, Minerva knew that her uncle had already died. She had witnessed her uncle's burial. It was impossible for her uncle to
come back to the land of the living. However, at that moment when she heard someone saying that her Uncle Holden had some
belongings left behind, Minerva was simply very sad.
Isadora cried. "Your uncle indeed had already died, I also don't want him to die. I miss him. I miss him very much. However, he is
dead. Your uncle had told me before he died that he had saved this money in an account abroad and it's to pay for your college
tuition. He said that he didn't want you to use someone else's money to pay for college. He didn't want you to use anybodyâs
money as he didn't want you to owe others a debt. He wanted you to stand on your own two feet."
"No! No!" Minerva cried like a child. "I don't want Uncle Holden's money! I don't owe anybody any money! I can support myself. I
just want my uncle not to die!" Minerva sobbed.
Both Ruth and Yvonne were speechless.
It was after a long while before Yvonne persuaded Minerva. " Minerva, darling, let's first stop crying. How about you take a look at
what is in your uncle's belongings?"
Only then did Minerva wipe her tears, and while she nodded, she unwrapped the package. At that moment when the package
was opened, Minerva broke out crying again. It was a moderately sized box and it was filled with a few hundred photos of the
Payne family. There were all sorts of photos in there. It had photos taken of Holden growing up, photos of him taken together with
his parents, as well as photos of Holden taken together with his three short-statured brothers. There were even a few photos of
Holden carrying his niece, Minerva.
None of these precious photos existed in the entire Payne family anymore, but Holden still had them. He had always cherished
that family very much. He had always valued the Payne family more than anyone else. He wanted very badly to be a part of that
family. Up until the point when he had left star Island, he had no clue why the Payne family was that cold to him, but he still took
those precious photos away with him.
Minerva felt as if her heart had been torn into pieces, she hugged those photos and squatted on the ground while crying. "Uncle
Holden...uncle Holden...we...our whole family had failed you. Uncle Holden...uncle Holden, can you come back to life? I will be
good to you in the future and I will never let you be alone. I will take good care of you for life just like how I take care of my
parents, Uncle Holden..." Minerva sobbed.
