Chapter 266
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Jake sighed. âDonât bother with the so-called transparency of the situation. Dean never planned to let you speak,â he stated bluntly.
Shirley furrowed her brow. âWhat are you implying?â
Ignoring her question, Jake turned around and walked out of her ward.
Dean lingered outside, and upon the door opening, he lunged forward, gripping Jakeâs collar.
Jakeâs superior height rendered Deanâs attempt at intimidation comical.
Deanâs eyes narrowed menacingly. âWhat did you say to our mom? Any bullshit, and youâre dead!â he growled.
Jake smirked. âLooks like you and Shirley donât trust each other much.â
Hearing Jake address their mom by her name without a hint of respect made Dean relax a bit. It looked like Shirley still had it out for Jake.
It made sense, though. Dean had meticulously set up Shirleyâs car âaccident,â making it impossible to uncover the truth.
The evidence Dean presented to Shirley all pointed misleadingly to Jake being the mastermind. Shirley should still be convinced.
Dean released Jake and grinned with smugness. âJake, are you jealous of me? You think youâve got it all, but youâre basically a loser. Even our mom doesnât want you. How pathetic!â
gⱯlnÏνð®âsï¼cððº, a world of tales Jake was cool as a cucumber. His voice, smooth as silk, dropped a bomb on Dean. âOnly losers call others losers. Dean, I donât want your shits, but youâre obsessed with my belongings.â
Deanâs grin vanished faster than a fart in the wind. He exploded, âJake, youâre gonna regret this! Mark my words that Iâll bring you down. Youâve milked that CEO position for long enough. Itâs my turn!â
With that, Dean stormed into Shirleyâs ward.
By the time Jake exited the hospital, he ran into Edgar.
Edgar leaned in and whispered, âDonât worry, Mr. Reeves. Everythingâs taken care of.â
Jake just nodded, a small, secretive smile playing on his lips. âLetâs leave,â he said.
Edgar looked confused as he asked in a low voice, âWhat? Weâre just gonna leave? But theyâre going to deal with your mom today and then pin this whole thing on you!â
Jake chuckled dryly, his expression unreadable. âI gave Shirley a choice, but she turned it down. I have my plan. They canât defeat me.â
As Jake uttered the last sentence, he happened to lock eyes with Stan.
Stan noticed the chill in Jakeâs eyes and flashed a provoking smile at Jake.
Jake merely glanced at Stan before averting his gaze.
Jakeâs calm demeanor and disregard for him infuriated Stan.
Stan turned to Courtney, his eyes glinting with malice, and said, âTell Dean to do it tonight. Make it quick.â
