Chapter 371
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Kallie didnât choose to go home, concerned her daughter might worry about her upon seeing her in this state. The car that escorted Sarah arrived first. Even at this point, Sarah was still cursing.
Liza, standing beside Kallie, said angrily, âSuch arrogance even now! Kallie, do you need me to frighten her a bit?â
âNah. Just stand by and watch the show unfold. I will have someone else handle Sarah,â Kallie replied, smiling as she looked at an approaching car.
The approaching car slowly came to a halt, and Courtney stepped out with a pale face. As soon as she got out, her hands were restrained, and she was brought before Kallie like a criminal.
âYou⦠Kallie!â Resentment flashed through Courtneyâs eyes at the sight of Kallie.
âItâs been a while.â Kallieâs smile broadened. âHonestly, I didnât expect to meet you again under such circumstances.â
âYou scheming bitch! What did you do to Stan? Did you threaten him? I donât believe heâd give up on me like this!â Courtney snapped.
Courtneyâs reaction didnât surprise Kallie; she had prepared for this moment. The moment Courtneyâs words hung in the air, she played the phone recording.
Courtneyâs heart sank upon hearing Stanâs swift shift in stance in less than minutes, indicating he wasnât troubled at all when deciding to surrender her to Kallie.
Courtney first gave a self-mocking smile, and then the overwhelming disappointment and sorrow brought tears to her eyes. She muttered to herself, âStan, how could you do this to me after five whole years of handling things for you? You know Kallie hates my guts and will definitely torture me, yet you still sent me to her. How can you be so ruthless?â
Kallie didnât want to hear Courtneyâs complaints, so she turned to Liza, âLock Courtney and Sarah in the same room. They must be watched closely. Donât grant them any chance to team up. Donât feed them until the day after tomorrow.â
Liza frowned. âKallie, Sarah is such a vicious woman and even tried to assault you aboutâ¦â
âLiza!â Kallie interrupted, displeasure flashing in her eyes. âSarahâs behavior is indeed shameful, but we canât stoop to her level. There are many ways to punish her. We donât need to use the lowest and most disgusting one.â
Liza nodded, guilt in her expression. âI see⦠I wasnât thinking clearly just now.â
Kallie rubbed her temples and said, âAnyway, I need to go back as soon as possible; we are expecting guests today. As for Sarah and Courtney, besides not giving them food or drinks, make sure they arenât too comfortable.â
Sarah had cursed throughout the drive. By the time she was shoved into an empty room, she was completely exhausted. âBitch! Damn you!â she muttered as she weakly lifted her feet and kicked the door a few times to vent out her lingering frustration.
When Sarah turned around, she was startled to see someone squatting in the corner. She realized the person looked familiar upon closer inspection.
âArenât you Courtney?â Astonishment spread across Sarahâs face. Then, something dawned on her, and she smiled.
âIt seems Iâm not the only one imprisoned here by Kallie. Thatâs a good thing. When we get out, we can work together to make sure she rots in prison for a lifetime. The Miller family might not be as powerful as the Nixon family, but I doubt Kallie would dare commit any crime in Avalon.â
Courtney had no intention of engaging in conversation with Sarah, yet Sarahâs arrogant and ignorant statement prompted her to speak with a mocking smile. âWhy wouldnât she dare? Havenât you done plenty of things to her before? She wonât kill us. But she certainly wonât make it easy for us either. Sheâll never go easy on anyone who hurt her before.â
The major reason was Kallie had transformed, and Kallieâs newfound confidence and decisiveness startled Sarah, deepening her disbelief. Elsewhere, as soon as Kallie arrived home, a servant came to report that a guest had come.
Lizaâs face registered surprise as she turned to Kallie. âHow could you predict it this precisely?â
