Chapter 375
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Kallieâs gaze became threatening. âI have money to pay for your services, and I also have resources to secure my interests. Do you understand?â
âYes,â the person replied, his face paling. He nodded rapidly before leaving in a hurry with the money.
Exhausted, Kallie collapsed onto the sofa.
Liza, having completed her tasks, returned and couldnât help but feel sympathy for Kallieâs distressed state. âKallie, I know youâre anxious, but if you break down, Sophie will get worried,â Liza remarked.
Kallie inhaled deeply. âYouâre right. But how can I possibly stay calm with Tyrone missing and no leads?â
Liza placed an envelope on the desk before Kallie. âPlease take a look at this. Please grab some rest.â
With a slight frown, Kallie picked up the envelope and read it. Inside was an invitation. It had been sent by the Martel family, who were hoping Kallie would attend.
This left Kallie feeling perplexed.

During Kallieâs time with the Reeves, she had maintained a distance from the Martels, and now, out of the blue, they sought her presence at a banquet.
Observing Kallieâs puzzled expression, Liza offered a solution. âKallie, if youâre hesitant about this, I can easily decline on your behalf. The messenger who delivered the invitation is still nearby.â
Kallie shook her head, scrutinizing the invitation. Her finger paused at the logo. âLook here, this emblem signifies VIP status. Although their motives are unclear, their effort to deliver this personally isnât something to dismiss lightly.â
Kallie added with a hint of curiosity, âItâs okay. I feel like watching how Melinda will react to my surprise for her.â
Liza acknowledged with a nod. âUnderstood.â
Just then, Kallieâs phone interrupted their conversation with its insistent ring. It was Errol calling. The line was silent until Kallie, pressed for time, broke the stillness. âErrol, Iâm busy here. If youâve nothing to discuss, I need to hang up.â
âKallie, please wait!â Errolâs voice came through, hurried and anxious.
âIâm calling for the sake of Sarah. If this makes you angry, you can lash out at me, and I wonât retaliate. But allow me to caution you that if this continues, it might spell trouble for you. You know how the Miller family operates.â
Kallie smiled, her tone flat. âI doubt the Miller family has the capability to pose any real threat to me at the moment. Errol, if youâre facing a tough spot, just be upfront with me. Weâve been friends long enough, and I wonât hold this against you.â
As Kallie spoke with such calmness, Errolâs guilt intensified. He bit his lip, his voice laden with a mix of sadness and resignation. âI need to get Sarah out immediately. She canât be left in this situation.â
âOkay. Come and pick her up,â Kallie agreed smoothly.
