Chapter 441
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

The room fell silent. No one dared to challenge her.
Anna was a force to be reckoned with. Crossing her would mean instant notoriety, the receiving end of everyoneâs relentless tongue-lashings.
Jake glanced up at Anna, a slight frown creasing his brow. âYou didnât need to come back for this,â he said.
Anna pouted, a playful expression softening her usually cold features. âI missed you, so I came back,â she said with a hint of mischief in her voice. âDonât you miss me?â
Jake had to remember he was playing the role of her brother. He couldnât blow his cover, so he forced himself to respond. âOf course I do.â
Annaâs face lit up with a sweet smile.
To anyone watching, it was just a normal, affectionate exchange between siblings.
Stanâs face drained of all color. So, this man wasnât Jake? Shit! Heâd just offended the big shot.
Sarah was more panicked. She jumped to her feet, nearly stumbling in her haste. If this man was really Annaâs brother, Mr. Jack, then Kallie would have even more ammunition to use against her. Damn it! Why was Kallie so damnâ
An idea struck Anna, and she turned to Kallie, her eyes turning icy.
Kallie wasnât sure if she was imagining it; she felt Annaâs eyes held a hint of malice when looking at her.
Suddenly, Anna pointed at Kallie. âHeâs my brother, but Iâve never seen this woman before. I donât remember her being the one who saved him overseas. Sheâs probably using him for something.â
Everyone in the room was shocked by Annaâs accusation. Sarah let out a relieved sigh and leaned back in her chair, a smug grin spreading across her face as she watched Kallieâs face drain of color.
Jake jumped to his feet and yanked Anna aside, his voice a low growl. âWhat the hell are you doing?â he hissed.
Anna blinked innocently and then whispered in his ear. âYouâre using my brotherâs identity, so I naturally have to speak the truth. If I hadnât come back, this woman would have blown your cover. Lennyâs right; sheâs trouble. Iâm trying to help you. Canât you see that?â
Anna looked torn, her eyes filled with both bitterness and deep worry. âYouâve always played it safe and kept this identity for so long. I canât let you throw it all away for some woman!â
Then Anna waved her hand imperiously, announcing to the gathering group, âArrest that woman! Sheâs an imposter pretending to be the one who saved my brother!â
Sarah jumped in. âMiss Watts, she is also a murder suspect! She tricked your brother, hoping heâd help her get away with it. Donât let her escape!â
gαâηÏνððsâ¤com offers tales worth telling Annaâs eyes locked onto Kallie, burning with intensity. âYouâre absolutely right. I wonât let her go.â
Jake let go of Anna, his voice firm and icy for the room to hear. âI dare anyone to lay a finger on her! Whether she saved me or not doesnât matter anymore. What matters is that I love her.â
