Chapter 542
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Finally, Kallie smiled warmly and said, âI often share my experiences to remind us that life is full of unexpected twists. But as long as we keep going, thereâs always a chance to turn things around.â
Debbieâs eyes lit up, and she beamed like a child discovering a new hero in Kallie. âOh my gosh! From now on, Kallie, youâre my idol. Youâre just so inspiring.â
Elaine joked, âWasnât it you who said you were my fan when we first met?â
Debbie waved her hand dismissively. âOh, I still admire you! I promised my dorm-mates your autograph.â
Elaine couldnât control her laughter.
Debbie added, âYou know what? I feel in many ways that Elaine and Kallie are alike. Both have faced their share of struggles and emerged stronger for it. I recall Elaine mentioning in an interview that she joined the entertainment industry to fund her sisterâs education. Itâs a testament to her dedication and resilience.â
Kallieâs expression remained calm, but her interest was piqued as she listened.
Elaineâs smile from a moment ago faded, her eyes clouding as a memory resurfaced.
Elaine had been in unusually high spirits, making her more talkative than usual. âWhen I look back, I donât regret the choice I made then. After all, my sister and I only had each other. Naturally, I wanted to give her the best. But I do regret sending her abroad. I thought I was giving her the finest education, but in realityâ¦â
Elaineâs voice trailed off, her expression shifting to one of simmering anger.
Sensing the tension, Debbie chose to stay quiet, offering Elaine a comforting glance instead.
The comments were filled with sympathy and understanding:
âI get where Elaine is coming from. She wants the best education for her sister, but sheâs also worried because her sisterâs so far away.â
âShe is like the ideal sister. If I were in Elaineâs shoes, I donât know if Iâd be as good to my sister.â
âThatâs exactly why she was able to become the Best Actress. She is incredibly level-headed.â
âIâm really curious about what happened to Elaineâs sister. She doesnât seem to be doing wellâ¦â
âHavenât you seen the news about Elaineâs sister? Itâs such a shame. She was such a striking young woman.â
Kallie was tempted to ask more but sensed it wasnât the right moment.
With that, the conversation drew to a close. Everyone dispersed and returned to their rooms.
To Kallieâs surprise, Saniya was nowhere to be found in the room.
Though Kallie didnât care, she felt compelled to act. She approached the director for answers. The director informed her that Saniya was in a foul mood and wanted to be left alone.
Kallie pointed out that Saniya was not suitable for the show and suggested that perhaps it would be better for her to quit, especially considering the harsh criticism she was receiving in the comments.
However, the director shook his head, dismissing the idea. He didnât offer much of an explanation, only mentioning that unless Saniya quit on her own, the show would be liable to compensate her due to the contract if she wasnât included.
