Chapter 582
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

The chaos drew everyoneâs attention.
Despite the opportunity, Kallie played her part well, choosing not to flee.
To make the acting more convincing, when the so-called infiltrator turned to attack Ernesto, Kallie intervened, seizing the knife and nearly suffering from a miscarriage in the process.
The island burst into activity.
Griffin took charge, leading his men in repeated investigations. He brought Jake along for assistance.
With Kallieâs pregnancy and her recent close call with the miscarriage, numerous family doctors were summoned to attend to her.
Your imagination starts at g Ɐ ln Ï Î½ð ðsâ¤conn Overwhelmed by pain, Kallie lay there, barely conscious and drenched in sweat, overhearing snippets of the conversation between Ernesto and Griffin from outside her room.
âDad, somethingâs off this time. Our security system is state-of-the-art. How could someone have infiltrated?â Griffin voiced his suspicion.
âNot even the best security is foolproof. No more absolute statements!â Ernesto expressed his frustration. âYou should reflect on your arrangements. How could such a major error have happened?â
Griffin explained, âThere must be an internal issue. Otherwise, how could someone have pinpointed Kallieâs location? I suspect thereâs a traitor among us.â Kallie winced from the pain.
Griffin was shrewd and observant. If she and Jake were to escape, they needed a plan to distract Griffin.
Ernesto narrowed his eyes, questioning Griffinâs accusation, âA traitor? Do you know who it might be?â Griffin scoffed. âWould I mention it if I werenât sure?â
Kallieâs anxiety grew. Yet, her pain was too intense to concentrate fully. Even if she and Jake were caught, there was no turning back. Boldness was their only ally. They had to take the risk, regardless of the consequences. Failure would mean no escape from their dire situation.
Kallie shifted her focus, trying to ignore the pain as she cradled her belly, bending over slightly.
Kallieâs wails of pain echoed within the room.
At Ernestoâs words, Ernestoâs response was a scornful chuckle, his voice slicing through the air like ice. âSurely, youâre not implying Kallie orchestrated that intrusion?â
Griffinâs silence was loud, his stoic demeanor revealing more than words could.
Ernestoâs icy glare cut across the room, finally halting at Kallieâs door. He made no move to alert the guards. Rather, with deliberate slowness, Ernesto lifted his cane and delivered several sharp blows to Griffin.
âHave you lost your mind? Sheâs practically a prisoner here, swarmed by our guards at every turn. The idea that she could sneak someone past us is ludicrous. If she had such resources at her disposal, she wouldnât be trapped here, would she? And why would she throw herself into peril to protect me?â
Griffin retorted, âItâs not about protecting you.â
The shadows in Ernestoâs eyes deepened. âDo you think Iâm oblivious? Her every move is calculated. She aims to catch me off guard, to ease her own plight, or maybe to save her own skin once she gives birth.â
Griffinâs frown deepened, his tone cautious. âKallieâs scheming runs deeper than you perceive. Sheâs not simply cunning. Sheâs devious.â
