Chapter 592
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Griffin observed the scene with cold detachment. He reluctantly approached, plastering a fake smile on his face. âAnna,â he said through gritted teeth.
Annaâs eyes widened in surprise. âYouâve grown up so much,â she remarked. âThe last time I saw you in a photograph, you were just a little boy. All these years, it was just you by our dadâs side. Mr. Jack and I never had to worry about our dad. Butâ¦â
Annaâs face clouded over with sadness as she spoke of Mr. Jack.
Ernestoâs smile faltered. âIf he doesnât want to return, so be it,â he said with a hint of bitterness. âHe never saw me as his father, anyway. What use is a son who doesnât respect his own father?â
Griffin, his voice tinged with curious excitement, asked, âSo, heâs gone for good then?â
Annaâs eyes glistened with unshed tears, lost in a painful memory.
Ernestoâs expression hardened. He shot Griffin a look that could kill.
Griffin immediately backed down. But his eyes remained fixed on Anna, cold and calculating, not the way a younger brother should look at his older sister. Kallie and Jake shared a quick, meaningful look. Kallie could see the surprise etched on Jakeâs face.
It was clear to Kallie that even Jake was unaware of Mr. Jackâs and Annaâs ties to the Perry family.
Ernesto summoned everyone to meet Anna. Naturally, Kallie was included.

Kallie made no attempt to feign ignorance.
Annaâs gaze lingered on Kallie, her expression unreadable.
Anna remained composed, neither confirming nor denying any prior connection.
Kallieâs heart hammered in her chest under Annaâs intense scrutiny.
Anna offered no response to Kallieâs greeting.
Anna engaged warmly with everyone else, but Kallie was treated as if she were invisible.
Annaâs peculiar behavior sparked curiosity among the onlookers, leaving them to wonder about the history between her and Kallie.
Ernesto observed this with a puzzled frown but chose not to pry.
Annaâs attention was suddenly drawn to White, who was standing beside Griffin. She swiftly made her way over. âHello there,â Anna said, her voice friendly. âYou seem familiar. Have we crossed paths before?â
Griffin gave Jake a quick, meaningful smile before turning to Anna. âAnna, youâre mistaken. He used to work for a friend of mine. Besides, heâs an OB/GYN. You wouldnât know him.â
Anna arched an eyebrow, a playful smile on her lips. âMaybe. But thereâs something about him⦠Not his looks, but his vibe. He reminds me of someone. Maybe itâs just my imagination.â
Anna held out her hand, her eyes boring into Jakeâs. âNice to meet you. Iâm Anna.â
Jake snapped to attention, plastering on a sycophantic grin. âIâm White, maâam.â
Kallie gazed at the phony smile on Jakeâs face. He didnât seem nervous, but just off.
