Chapter 601
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Anna scowled.
âTo be honest, Iâm not sure myself, but my father has been watching you for years and thinks youâre intelligent. Jake is also smart. Itâs likely your children would inherit that intelligence.
Remember Sophie? Itâs just a pity that sheâs a girl. Otherwise, there wouldnât be any need to abduct you and ensure your survival. Itâs ludicrous to think that trying to appease my father would protect you or your children. He merely sees you as an animal he owns.â
Kallie felt nauseous. She stared at Anna, overwhelmed with emotion. âWhat youâre doing is illegal!â
To Anna, Kallieâs words seemed like mere jest. âWell then, call the police and have us arrested. Letâs see if you manage that.â
Anna got up and approached Kallie. She reached out, seized Kallie by the chin, and forced Kallie to meet her gaze.
Anna relished seeing Kallieâs terror and tears, feeling a perverse sense of satisfaction.
âYou ought to be grateful. My father considered your recent compliance and opted to end your life swiftly without revealing the truth. But at least Iâve told you everything, so you wonât die ignorant.â
Kallie, shivering with rage, managed to say, âYouâll be punished for your wicked actions!â
Anna chuckled. âReally? Whereâs this punishment?â
Kallie regained her composure, her gaze intense.

He likely figured out Ernestoâs true intentions and tried his best to keep you out of it. Even in his final moments, he made Jake swear to protect you. Yet, here you are, back in the very place your brother tried to rescue you from. Donât you ever get haunted by thoughts of him?â
Annaâs rage boiled over, and she slapped Kallie. âSilence!â At that moment, a bodyguard interjected. âMiss Perry, if anything happens to her, itâs on you.â
Anna, breathing heavily, fought the urge to lash out further. She clenched her teeth.
âIf it werenât for you, Jake and I could have had a peaceful life together. All my suffering is because of you!â
Kallie took a few shaky steps back, her hands instinctively cradling her swollen belly.
After taking a moment to steady herself, Kallie resumed her mockery of Anna. âNo, Anna. Youâre here because of your own choices. You made your bed. Now, lie in it. Let me tell you something. Jake is never going to love you. Even without me, he wonât. If you doubt me, ask him yourself. Or, if youâre feeling bold, you can kill me right now and see if what I said isnât true.â
