Chapter 612
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Following the recent ordeal, Jake had barely escaped death, his body scarred with wounds. Yet, he was unconcerned.
Kallieâs fingers traced over Jakeâs scabbed wounds, her heart heavy with sorrow. She lifted her head and smiled softly.
âHave you considered names for our babies?â
Jake thought for a while. âWhat if we name the boy Calvin Nixon and the girl Chloe Nixon?â
This took Kallie by surprise. âWill they both take my last name?â
Jake tenderly kissed Kallieâs forehead. âYou endured much to bring them into this world. Itâs only fair they have your last name. Kallie, such details matter little to me. My only wish is to be with you indefinitely.â
Kallie felt deeply touched. She had been confused before. She had suggested they remarry, yet Jake had not discussed changing Sophieâs last name. Now, she realized the reason.
Suddenly, Kallie sensed a chilling, hostile stare. She turned around but saw no one.
âWhatâs wrong?â Jake inquired. âDid you see someone suspicious?â
Kallie shook her head. âNo, it might just be PTSD from escaping that dreadful place. I sometimes feel like Iâm being watched.â
Feeling uneasy still, Kallie proposed, âOnce the babies are stable, we should leave. We need to return home. Sophie is missing us.â
Jake nodded and embraced Kallie warmly.
At that moment, Clayton entered the room, observing them with a sense of bitterness. He cleared his throat to interrupt. âSorry to intrude, but thereâs something important I need to discuss.â
Shy, Kallie tried to pull away from Jakeâs embrace, but he held on firmly.
Holding Kallie closer, Jake faced Clayton and nodded slightly. âWhatâs the matter?â
Clayton began summarizing the critical details. He explained that Ernesto and Griffin had scapegoated someone.
At a press conference, Ernesto and Griffin accused Saniya, with Ernesto tearfully portraying her as a pitiful figure he had adopted and raised like his own daughter.
Ernesto claimed to have supported Saniyaâs desires unconditionally, aware of her extravagant spending but never questioning the purpose. He said he never anticipated her using the funds for such heinous acts.
Beside Ernesto, Griffin displayed a mock mix of youthful confusion and helplessness, visibly upset by the reportersâ probing.
This disclosure triggered a worldwide uproar. The experiments exposed were not just unethical but also against the law.
Many branded Saniya a public enemy, while only a few doubted Griffinâs and Ernestoâs innocence.
Ernesto, at seventy, dependent on a wheelchair, and Griffin, resembling an innocent student, seemed unlikely culprits.
Some people demanded Saniyaâs arrest and capital punishment, whereas others called for psychological support for Griffin and Ernesto, considering the psychological impact on them.
