Chapter 620
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Over the last five years, Burmoos had witnessed a significant shift in its power dynamics.
Families once allied with Stan had seen their influence wane.
Now, the most influential families in Burmoos were the Nixons, Reeves, Simpsons, and Morgans.
Returning home late from an interview, Kallie was pleasantly surprised to find Sophie and Calvin still up and lively.
Sophie, aged twelve, had blossomed into a young beauty, occasionally mirroring the poise and authority of both Kallie and Jake.
Calvin resembled Jake in every way.
Whenever Kallie glanced at Calvin, she often saw echoes of Jakeâs childhood.
âMommy,â Sophie called out, setting her belongings aside and rushing over. âCalvin is on his best behavior today, so thereâs nothing to worry about.â
Calvin trailed behind her, eager for a hug.
Kallie crouched down and gently patted their heads. Though she managed a smile, her fatigue was evident. âYou two have some fun together. I need to get some rest. Iâve got a business trip tomorrow, so be good,â she said gently.
Planting a kiss on Sophieâs cheek, Kallie said, âThank you for looking after your little brother while Iâm away.â
Sophieâs brow furrowed, her expression turning somber.
âMommy, youâre off to search for my daddy and little sister again, arenât you? But you know, some people give you false leads just to get close to you. You havenât taken a break in a month. You really should take it easy.â
Sophieâs mature tone made her seem beyond her years. Kallie laughed softly, but her laughter soon turned to a sigh of resignation.
âIâm aware that some are tricking me, but I have to be there and search for myself. Maybe this time Iâll find them.â
Sophie paused before declaring resolutely, âThen Iâll come along with you.â
Calvin, somewhat puzzled, chirped innocently, âI want to tag along!â
Kallie, rubbing her temples with a sigh, replied, âNo, you two stay here. Travel is tiring, and we canât predict the risks. Donât worry about me. Iâll be alright.â
Rising from her chair, Kallie planned to ask Trent to watch over the children.
During her previous trip to find Jake and Chloe, Kallie had been away for a week.
Unexpectedly, Sophie showed up with Calvin on the third day, which had startled Kallie.
The two kids were clever, especially Calvin, who was quite precocious.
Most of their ideas came from Calvinâs mind, and Sophie executed them with precision. Together, they were quite the dynamic duo. Thankfully, they knew when to pull back and hadnât stirred up serious trouble. They simply enjoyed tagging along with Kallie.
Ascending the stairs, Kallie sighed deeply, a wave of dizziness washing over her.
Kallieâs body gave out, collapsing without control. Waves of searing pain surged through her, overwhelming her senses.
