Chapter 622
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

When Sophie heard the news, she couldnât believe it. âMommy, youâre not planning to make us have fun elsewhere while you discreetly keep working, are you?â she asked suspiciously.
Kallie felt a flicker of frustration. âDonât you trust me at all?â
Both Sophie and Calvin shook their heads in unison.
To prove her point, Kallie packed only clothes into her suitcase in front of them, leaving behind all work-related gadgets. She even handed her phone over to Sophie.
âIâve arranged for others to handle both the company and household matters. If anyone calls me about work, hang up immediately.â
Sophieâs eyes sparkled as she accepted the responsibility. âIâll take care of it!â
Kallie decided not to search for Jake and Chloe this time, focusing on spending quality time with her children.
While planning, Kallie discovered their chosen destination had the highest happiness rating for family trips.
The place promised breathtaking beaches, an endless sea, and a brilliant blue skyâeverything that could lift their spirits and bring some much-needed peace.
The childrenâs moods lifted almost immediately, and the moment they arrived, they were already itching to dive into the water. Having taken swimming lessons since they were young, they were confident in the water.
With lifeguards keeping watch and strict rules about staying away from deeper areas, Kallie felt at ease letting Calvin and Sophie enjoy themselves. She busied herself setting up a lounge chair on the beach, hoping to relax.
But just as Kallie settled in, a commotion nearby caught her attention. Curiosity got the best of her, and she walked toward the crowd. To her surprise, they were gathered around Sophie and Calvin.
Kallieâs heart raced for a moment, but the kids were unharmed, standing there calmly.
Instead, lying on the sand between them was a young girl, her body soaked, her fate uncertain.
The sight of the girl sent a jolt through Kallie. Something about the girl struck her with a sense of familiarity.
Sophie and Calvin remained composed.
Calvin calmly instructed Sophie in performing first aid, and she followed his guidance with precision. Amid the chaos, their steady composure stood out, drawing the attention of nearby adults.
Five tense minutes passed before the little girl finally coughed up seawater and regained consciousness. Relief washed over the crowd as paramedics rushed to place the girl on a stretcher.
But just as everyone thought the worst was over, the girlâs small voice cut through the air. âWhy did you push me into the sea like that?â Her tone was young but unmistakably clear, sending a ripple of shock through the onlookers.
Sophieâs expression faltered for a moment, but she stayed composed and responded gently, âI know youâre scared, but itâs not right to slander others. If my brother hadnât noticed you were in trouble, we wouldnât have saved you in time.â
