Chapter 855
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Brysen immediately expressed concern: âMs Nixon, while your intentions are good, this approach has its risks. Some might see it as just for show.
Kallie looked at Brysen with mild reprimand.
âIf some think itâs just for show, so be it. My intention is not about fame. Itâs about making a difference. The more attention we get is worth any criticism that may come.â
Having made her decision, Kallie received support from Brysen, who nodded and assured her, âDonât worry, Miss Nixon. Iâll take care of the arrangements.
Kallie instructed: âMake sure you maximise our social media exposure. The focus during the live broadcast must be meaningful. Donât worry about possible criticism. All money raised will be donated in fullâ.
With the strategy in place, they continued with the necessary preparations.
In the meantime, Jake had arrived in the region, but had not yet met Kallie.
Although he knew of Claytonâs absence, he remained vigilant.
As Jake travelled to the area, he learned of Kallieâs accomplishments, which stirred mixed feelings within him.
Before, Kallie had been too shy to assert herself, always following him around.
Now, she had become a confident person.
Jake doubted he was worthy of Kallie, feeling an urgent need to be by her side again.
Opting for discretion, Jake decided to stay with a local family instead of in a hotel.
Clayton arrived in the county late at night, planning a surprise visit for Kallie.
Upon entering the hotel, Clayton asked at the front desk if Jake had checked in.
Immune to the possible lack of information, Clayton was confident in his ability to get the details he needed.
This was the only hotel in the county where Jake would presumably stay if he were in the area.
But to Claytonâs surprise, there was no record of Jake.
Doubting the initial information, Clayton considered the possibility that Jake had an alternative plan, given his cunning.
He instructed his men to keep an eye on Kallie and report to him any suspicious persons who approached her.
He warned that any attempt to approach Kallie without his approval would result in immediate dismissal.
The intimidated bodyguards confirmed his orders.
After returning to her room, Kallie made a video call to her three children.
Elma, now the most talkative, engaged in an animated conversation with Kallie.
During the call, Elmaâs mood suddenly changed to one of discontent.
âMom, Iâm not happy,â Elma said.
Concerned, Kallie asked, âWhatâs wrong, are you feeling bad?â
Elma, visibly upset, shook her head in frustration.
Sophie, next to Elma, clarified, âElmaâs class has an event this week that requires family participation.
Calvin and I will be attending. We knew you were busy, so Elma didnât mention it to you.
She had intended to invite Mr. Morgan, but he wasnât available. Thatâs why sheâs upset.
Sophie added, âItâs okay, sheâll feel better once we comfort her.â
Elma, resting her chin on her hands, commented, âMommy, youâre busy.â
âClayton is busy too.
Everyone seems to be too busy.â
