Chapter 984
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Though Brysen couldnât express her thoughts clearly, she was still trying to help Kallie find out the truth.
Even though seeing Neal again might bring back terrible memories for Brysen, she still brought Kallie here.
When Kallie turned back, she saw Brysen trembling violently behind her, too afraid to even look at Neal.
Kallieâs heart ached for Brysen. Any sympathy she might have had for Neal and his mother evaporated. Neal might be a pathetic sight, but Brysen was the real victim.
Kallie glared at Nealâs mother.
âYou know who I am,â she said coldly.
âAnd now that Iâve found you, you canât run anymore. You better cooperate and tell me what I want to know. If you do, maybe Iâll let your son live.â
Tears welled up in Nealâs motherâs eyes, and she dropped to her knees in front of Kallie.
âPlease, just spare my son. Iâll tell you anything you want to know. I know all about his dirty dealings. He canât talk right now, but I can.â
Kallieâs face softened a little.
âGive me a few minutes,â she said coldly. She needed to take care of Brysen first.
Kallie sent Brysen back to the car and returned with a couple of bodyguards to where Neal and his mother were waiting.
Nealâs mother was still there. She insisted they go back to her place to talk. She looked terrified.
Updates loaded at gðºðµð·Ïvððs.coð¶ âIâm trapped,â she whispered.
âWeâve been watched for years. Your being here has already made that man suspicious. If I tell you the truth out here in the open, heâll kill me before I can even say his name.â
Kallie nodded.
âI understand,â she said.
âLetâs go to your place.â They walked to a rundown apartment building and went inside. Nealâs apartment was a dump. There was hardly any furniture, and the place looked like a bomb had gone off.
The rooms were tiny and dark. Kallie figured no wonder Neal had gone crazy. It was enough to drive anyone insane.
Kallieâs subtle frown did not go unnoticed by Nealâs mother.
Nealâs mother offered a timid smile tinged with anxiety.
âForgive me for not tidying up the house today. Iâm afraid all I can offer is that chair over there.â
âItâs fine,â Kallie said, her tone reflecting surprise rather than scorn, as she digested the stark reality of Nealâs situation.
