Chapter 348
Beyond the Divorce
Request Denied I was feeling incredibly anxious, and my hands were clenched.
The door finally swung open, and I peered inside, looking at the spot where I had seen Dylan. The food on the table remained, but there was no sign of him.
Disappointed, I approached the room to see what was inside. The person who opened the door blocked my path and demanded, âWho are you looking for?â
Lauren smiled at the man and said softly, âWhy so aggressive? Iâm looking for Mr. Dylan. I have something to discuss with him.â
I was amazed by Laurenâs courage. The man was unconvinced and said, âWhoâs Mr. Dylan? Thereâs no such person here!â
âI saw him just now!â Lauren replied, clearly frustrated. âI just wanted to ask him something. Itâll be quick!â
He stepped aside and said, âFind him then. See for yourself which one is Mr. Dylan.â
I quickly grabbed Laurenâs hand to prevent her from going in.
âItâs fine then if heâs not in. Maybe we made a mistake,â I said, dragging Lauren back to our room.
She looked at me and asked, âDid you see him?â
I shook my head. âNo, I checked the people inside and couldnât find him. Maybe he left? But I didnât see anyone coming out. Or maybe I was mistaken?â
She waved her hand. âForget it. If youâre certain you saw Dylan, we can knock on their door again to find him. But if they denied it, what do you think that means?â
I understood her message and replied, âThat means he doesnât want to see me.â
âAh⦠that makes sense! He must not want to see you, so heâs hiding. I think heâs in that room!â
I sighed in resignation, as I had considered that possibility as well.
Just then, the food we ordered arrived. Ava dashed over like an eager little cat, inspecting what we had ordered.
Patting my shoulder, Lauren said, âLetâs eat, and then we can figure things out. Donât spoil the old folksâ
enjoyment!â
Her words jolted me out of my trance. I had brought my family out for a good time and couldnât let my I called my parents over to the table. Lauren had ordered a generous amount of food, and it looked delicious. I hadnât had a proper meal during my stay in Solaris and was starving. I felt ecstatic when I saw the food in front of me.
The food here matched my dadâs taste perfectly. He praised the meal and even suggested we stay in the spa longer.
âItâs been a while since Iâve done this!â My dad smiled with satisfaction as he ate. He looked like he had missed this experience.
Iâll get you a VIP card here next time. You can come whenever you want, soak as long as you like, and eat whenever you want!â Lauren quickly made the promise.
âDonât waste money like that,â my dad politely refused.
âThe VIP card doesnât cost money. Itâs a little gift toâ¦establish relationships.â Lauren explained in a mysterious tone.
My dad looked at her in surprise and said, âThereâs such a thing?â
Lauren gave a mischievous smile and nodded. âYes, they want to show their respect to us. I have one.
Just let me know when you want to come, and Iâll bring you both!â
I glanced at Lauren jokingly and whispered to my dad, âSheâs a corrupt figure!â
Although I said it in a lighthearted manner, both of us understood each other perfectly.
Lauren smiled and didnât deny it, saying, âWe need to let them enjoy this too!â
By the time we left, it was pretty late.
As we were leaving, the people from that room had also come out, but I didnât see any sign of Dylan.
But I was sure I hadnât made a mistakeâI had seen Dylan!
So why didnât they admit that it was him?
My parents and Ava were exhausted and barely keeping their eyes open. I was the only one who remained alert as I drove home.
When we arrived, Ava was sound asleep. I carried her to her room and tucked her in. My parents went to bed, and I quietly slipped out to check on Ivanna. I hadnât seen her in a while and wanted to ask her why she had been so busy.
I knocked on her door, but there was no answer. It seemed she hadnât returned yet.
