Chapter 89
Beyond the Divorce
Hurt and Heartbroken Matthewâs scream echoed through the room.
Before I could turn, a tall figure blocked my path and kneeled before me with a loud thud.
âChloe, please donât leave! I was a fool for doing all those things.â Matthew grabbed my hand and looked at me guiltily.
âHoney, please forgive me!â He slapped himself and added, âIâIâll change! I wonât repeat those stupid mistakes.
Letâs start over!â Melanie rushed over and pulled his arm, saying, âMatt, what promised youâd divorce.
are you saving? You her once we secure ATL Empireâs project.
You told me you never loved her, right? You only married her for our familyâs future.
Since she knows everything, thereâs nothing to fear.â I glared at Melanie and asked Matthew, âIs that what you said?â âDonât listen to her nonsense! I wonât leave you.
We still have Ava,â Matthew desperately pleaded, âYou and Ava are my family.
Letâs start over!â âMatt, what are you afraid of?â Melanie asked while looking at him.
âCan you honestly say you donât want me anymore?â Matthew shoved Melanie away, breaking free from her grip as he continued to kneel.
âHoneyâ¦â âHow do you plan to start over?â I stared at him.
âIâll do anything for you!â He vowed.
âOkay, transfer the house, car, and all of Tanum Corporationâs assets to my name again,â I demanded, â
Otherwise, Iâll do what I said.â Matthew froze while Melanie shoved me.
âYou can go to hell!â Her actions caught me off guard.
I lost my balance and fell backward as my head knocked onto the comer of the table.
A sharp pain shot through my forehead, and blood flowed down.
Everyone rushed to me as Melanie clung onto Matthew, accusing me, âThat bitch is just faking it!â
Matthew slapped Melanie and shouted, âGet out!â Immediately after, he rushed to my side tremblingly.
âHâHoney, I-â Ivanna choked, âDamn it, Matthew! Take her to the hospitalâ Finally, Matthew picked me up in a panic, and we rushed to the hospital.
Alle drama had drained my energy, and I didnât know how many stitches I received.
The physical pain I refused to talk to anyone and wished for some rest.
Matthew stayed with me throughout the night, but i didnât utter a single word to him and slept.
Matthew left the following day, but Grace came to send me food.
I didnât see Matthew for the rest of the day, which was great because looking at him only irritated me.
After all, I had lost all hope in him.
However, I didnât expect him to show up at night with Ava in his arms.
I was shocked when I realized he wanted to use our daughter to manipulate me.
I couldnât believe he would use Ava for his selfish desires.
Ava was cheerful a moment ago but burst into tears when she saw the bandage around my head.
She cried, âMommy!â My anger flared up again, but I couldnât act out before Ava for fear of scaring her.
I knew Matthew was unwilling to meet my demands.
After all, he had moved the assets around and wouldnât readily transfer everything back to my name.
Unexpectedly, as one crisis subsided, another emerged.
