Chapter 124
A Divorce After My Rebirth
Chapter 124 Salvaging Something
This development surprised Natalie.
Cedric had been unpredictable all day. First, he hadnât made a scene in the basement earlier, and now
he didnât make a fuss seeing her with her uncle.
Had he undergone a transformation?!
âWhy are you here?â Natalie approached and said as calmly as possible.
Fortunately, the staff here displayed impeccable professionalism. The receptionist didnât spare a glance
in their direction, and the area was devoid of any curious eyes.
She had to admit that Stephenâs approach to personnel management was worth learning. In such a
large enterprise, from top to bottom, the management was strict and without a single loophole.
Cedric towered above Natalie, and he looked down at her. He tried to reign in his temper, succeeding
after a few minutes.
He turned around and said, âFollow me.â
His calm demeanor left Natalie perplexed.
Was it because of the incident at the hospital entrance? Was he now concerned about his public
image?
But when did he become afraid?
Cedric was such a shameless man, and no one in Verde City would dare openly criticize himâ¦
So what was there for him to fear?
When they reached the parking lot, Cedric opened the car door and stood silently by it. There was no
previous hysteria, but his current demeanor made Natalie even more nervous.
Straightening up, she said, âIf thereâs something, letâs discuss it here. I drove myself here.â
âNatalie!â
It was just one word, but Natalie was able to discern the suppressed emotions in his tone. As he looked
at her, the crimson hue in his eyes revealed the emotions even more under the broad daylight.
Natalie couldnât help but swallow nervously. Though she had encountered this side of Cedric before,
she
felt like an impending storm was about to erupt.
Eventually, Natalie glanced around and got into the car.

tha bang, Cedric took the driverâs seat. He hadnât brought a driver with him today.
In the next moment.
Ahhhh.
Natalieâs scream echoed over Verde City.
âYou madman! Stop, stop! Stop! Ughâ¦â ($)
The car sped through the city, weaving recklessly through traffic. What should have been a majestic
phantom now tumed into a wild ride.
âAh!!â Seeing the car heading straight for a truck, Natalie screamed in terror. Every muscle in her body
tensed, unable to relax.
Cedric was insane! He had lost his mind!
Had he reached the point of fury, ready to vent it out by endangering her life?!
Natalieâs anxiety escalated as she thought more about the situation, causing her whole body to become
increasingly tense.
âAhhh!â
She screamed again, too scared to look. She quickly crouched beneath the dashboard. Closing her
eyes, she covered her head with both hands. Despite being inside the car, the speed still made her feel
like she might be launched out at any moment.
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, and she feared that she might even have a heart attack. She
didnât know if she would survive getting out of the car alive!
It wasnât until ten minutes later that the car finally came to a stop. The sound of a river and water
slapping against the shore filled the air.
Natalie opened the car door and rushed to the side, vomiting uncontrollably. While she wasnât prone to
motion sickness, Cedricâs driving was another story.
âBlarghâ¦!â
Having barely eaten anything, she expelled all the water she had drunk in the meeting room.
)
Her face was ashen, and she was clearly frightened. In her current state, she couldnât muster the
strength to curse Cedric even if she wanted to.
After a while, she stood up. Her legs were still trembling. Although she had been in the car during

Natalle closed her eyes, attempting to find words to express her current emotions to Cedric. However,
she struggled to find an appropriate description.
âWhat the hell are you trying to do?â
Despite the numerous ways she could have phrased it, only this simple question remained,
Cedric replied, âDo you think itâs funny to make a fool of me?â
Natalie said, âI donât understand what youâre talking about.â
âHah.â Cedric sneered.
He turned around and leaned against the carâs hood. Then, he lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.
It was silent except for the water splashing and the sound of nature.
Cedric remained silent, and Natalie was confused. However, she chose not to ask anything else.
Cedric smoked one cigarette after another, revealing how turbulent the emotions that were raging
within him.
It wasnât until the fifth cigarette that Natalleâs legs began to feel numb
Finally, Cedric said, âNatalie, did you suddenly forget who you are after I gave you some freedom?â
âI donât understand what youâre sayingâ Natalie clutched her chest in discomfort, bewildered by Cedricâs
sudden change in temperament.
A shadow flickered in his eyes as Cedric gazed at her pale face. The turmoil within him remained a
mystery to everyone.
After confirming Isaacâs words and having Stefan present the investigation results, Cedric felt like a
complete fool.
Stephen was her uncle?! Ha
He couldnât help but recall their first meeting and Natalieâs subsequent misleading comments.
He wished he could strangle her right now!
âAre you happy?â Cedricâs tone was dangerous.

Natalie tensed up. âWhat does it matter? No one can stop you if you want to be a fool!â
Cedricâs suppressed anger flared up again upon hearing her words. Without warning, Cedric grabbed
her
wrist and pressed her against the car hood.
She could feel the chilling metal beneath her through her clothes.
Meeting his furious gaze and acknowledging the eerie silence around them, Natalle realized how easy
it
would be for him to do something to her in this remote location.
Though she had faced off against Cedric numerous times, she felt overwhelmed.
âWâwhat are you doing?â She couldnât help but stutter.
Cedric smiled.
It was a smile that didnât reach his eyes.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you scared?â
âWell, I suppose thatâs justified. After all, weâre in the middle of nowhere. Anything could happen!â
Every word Cedric uttered carried a sense of danger.
Natalie was genuinely frightened!
Her mind raced, trying to understand what had happened to Cedric to trigger such rage. Though he
had been venting his emotions all the time recently, she hadnât figured out what was going on with him.
Then, he pressed his lips forcefully against hers!
âUgh⦠You⦠Mmph!â
Cedric remained silent and pushed harder.
âIt hurts!â
He was crazy!
Natalie tried to push him off. He radiated a dangerous air, and she recalled they were in the middle of
nowhere. So, she didnât dare to provoke him too much.
His kiss was fueled by anger, the need for release, and even a desire to tear her apartâ¦!
As he continued moving against her, seemingly out of control, Natalie panicked.
voice trembled.
was gen hely afraid.
Cedric noticed.
With his head buried in her neck, he chuckled softly. His warm breath hit her skin, and he said, âAre
you so afraid Iâll vent my anger by killing you?â
Hearing her fears laid bare made Natalie feel embarrassed.
He pressed his lips forcefully against hers again. But this time, it lacked the anger he had previously
displayed!
Natalie trembled, powerless to stop Cedricâs actions.
