Chapter 43
A Divorce After My Rebirth
Chapter 43 Resign and Go Home
Even if they wanted to cancel the contract, it was likely because they were dissatisfied with Natalieâs
designs.
She hadnât even submitted her design yet, so why would theyâ¦?
The person on the other end interrupted her thoughts, âIâm sorry, Ms. Walker. I didnât recognize that

were the Johnson familyâs young mistress earlier. It would be too much for me to use your designs.â
âYouâre being too kindâ¦â Natalie muttered distractedly.
After hearing what the person said, Natalie knew that Cedric probably had something to do with it.
Originally, it was to leave her without a job, but who would have thought that it would affect her ongoing
collaborations as well?
She hung up the phone. Before she could say anything, Karina said, âItâs okay, we have no shortage of
orders here!â
The way Karina said it made it seem like they were financially secure.
Natalie also felt a bit relieved.
She knew that with Cedricâs interference, things wouldnât be so easy for her. That was why it was
crucial
to secure Apex Globalâs project, as the business was on par with Cedricâs.
While smaller companies might give in to Cedricâs influence, the man she had met today didnât seem
like someone who would easily bow to pressure.
âWhat are you thinking about?â Karina asked when she saw Natalie was silent.
Natalie replied, âMr. Frazier isnât someone who takes things lightly, is he?â
Karina looked surprised and asked, âWait⦠You didnât know?â
Natalie asked, âKnow what?â
âMr. Frazier has never had a good relationship with the Johnson family. So, this deal is a test of our
capabilities and not anything else.â
Natalie was stunned. She hadnât heard about this before, but it was clear that Mr. Frazier and Cedric
werenât friends. Otherwise, she would have seen them interacting over the years she had been with
Cedric
Thatâs good, Natalie sighed in relief.
With this in mind, she had to work even harder in the coming days and make use of everything she had
learned during her months abroad.
Natalie knew that securing Apex Global was the key to resolving all her concerns.
Meanwhile, on Cedricâs side, he was frantic as well.
After Yuvan presented the design drafts for the upcoming bidding three days later, Cedric found all of
them unsatisfactory.
âTell them to redo them immediately, Cedric ordered. âWhat the hell is this crap?!â
Cedric rarely cursed.
Even if he was dissatisfied with the work, he usually sent it back silently.
This time, however, he showed no restraint.
Yuvan picked up the designs and said, âYes, sir. But, sir⦠We should communicate your thoughts to
them
so they understand what they need to-â
âDidnât they visit the site? If they canât even do this, we might as well shut down the design department,
Cedricâs tone was sharp, showing he wasnât open to discussion.
Yuvan knew it wasnât the right moment to reason with Cedric. He had never seen Cedric so incensed
before. The design department would have to work tirelessly for the next few days.!!
âIf they canât produce anything adequate by tomorrow, kick them all out!â Cedric stated coldly.
As Yuvan turned to leave, he shivered upon hearing Cedricâs ruthless words. He realized that Cedric
was extremely serious this time. People might genuinely lose their jobs if they fail to produce
satisfactory results the next day.
Back in the office, Natalie and Karina held a meeting and then dove into their work. The entire design
team was gathered around a long desk in the lobby, discussing drawings and plans.
Any issues or concerns were raised immediately for efficient problemâsolving.
Throughout the process, Natalieâs phone kept ringing. She checked each time to see who was calling.
She rejected calls from Cedric and Rebecca.
Unexpectedly, she received a call from Dylan, Mr. Frazierâs representative.
âDo you need the architectural plans for the developments around the land in the eastern suburbs?â
Dylan
asked.
âYes, I need them,â Natalie responded without hesitation. Those architectural plans were of immense
importance to her.
What to build on a piece of land depended not only on its location but also on the surrounding facilities.
It was not just about constructing something that suited that particular piece of land; it also needed to fit
in
with the overall image of the area.
âTil
âIâll be waiting for you downstairs.â
âAlright, Iâll be down shortly,â Natalie replied, ending the call. She rushed downstairs without even
taking
her coat.
Outside the building, there was a striking RollsâRoyce Phantom that exuded an impressive air. The fact
that an employee drove such a car was a testament to Apex Globalâs extravagance.
Natalie hurried over to the car, and Dylan greeted her with a friendly smile. He handed her a folder
through the window.
âThese are all the approved plans for the surrounding area,â he said.
âThank you!â
Natalie accepted the folder with a sense of reverence. These documents were typically inaccessible to
outsiders, and having them gave her comprehensive knowledge of the eastern suburbs. If she couldnât
create a satisfactory design with these resources, it would be her own inadequacy, and sheâd have to
admit defeat.
âAlright, weâll take our leave.â
Take care. Letâs have dinner together another day,â Natalie offered. According to etiquette, she should
have invited her benefactor inside for a cup of coffee, but time was of the essence.
As the car started moving, Natalie glanced through the rear window and saw a figure inside the car.
The person looked like⦠Mr. Frazier?
In the distance, Cedric descended the stairs and spotted Natalie. When he noticed Irwin Frazierâs car,
his. face instantly darkened!
Cedric caught her in his arms. Natalie looked up, and her eyes met Cedricâs angry eyes. When Natalie
realized who it was, the apologetic look on her face disappeared instantly, replaced by an icy
demeanor.

A moment ago, she had been smiling Irwin. Yet now, she was acting cold towards Cedric.
Cedricâs tone was unpleasant as he asked, âWhy are you still here?â
Which company in this building had employed her?
Natalie straightened up, breaking free from Cedricâs embrace. She replied confidently, âIâm working
here!â
Cedric raised an eyebrow and said ambiguously, âYouâve certainly come a long way.â
Natalie didnât want to argue with him. âIâm busy. Iâm leaving.â
âStop!â Cedric ordered.
As Natalie began to turn away, Cedric seized her wrist. She shook him off and held the files in her
arms.
tightly, as if they were a precious treasure.
Indeed, these documents were invaluable to the participating companies. Natalie had contemplated
this,
but she hadnât known how to acquire them until Dylan handed them to her personally.
âIf you donât want to be embarrassed, resign immediately and go home!â Cedric threatened her,
emphasizing each word.
Natalie couldnât care less!
âI wonât go back,â Natalie replied firmly.
She wouldnât back down.
From now on, she would never return to that place. It was a place she despised and loathed, and a
place
that had turned into a living nightmare for her!
