Chapter 53 She’s Not Afraid to Ask for Anything

After getting into the car, Natalie felt drowsy and weak due to her illness. As they approached the

hospital, she began to shiver uncontrollably, even though she had bundled herself up tightly.

These were typical symptoms of a fever.

“Are you cold?” Irwin’s solemn voice floated into her ears.

Natalie could barely keep her eyes open. She looked at the man and said in a stuffy voice, “Y–yeah…”

She was genuinely cold, so much so that she wished she could curl up under a blanket and warm

herself.

Her whole body felt as though she had been plunged into icy water.

A warm sensation enveloped her as Irwin covered her with his coat. With this newfound warmth,

At the hospital, Dylan looked nervously at Irwin. “Sir, please allow me to handle this.”

Seeing Irwin exit the car and adjusting his cuff as though he were about to carry Natalie, Dylan’s heart

raced.

But one cold look from Irwin made him stop in his tracks.

“Are you suggesting that you bringing her in will prevent unnecessary rumors?”

Dylan hesitated for a moment. Indeed, anyone standing next to Natalie, especially a man, could

become the target of gossip.

However, nobody would dare cross the line if it was Irwin.

would still attempt to test Cedric’s boundaries. But with Irwin, even the thought of it would be pushing

her surroundings. When she realized she was in a hospital room, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Cedric’s icy tone was now tinged with mockery as he asked, “What are you so afraid of?”

Natalie finally shifted her gaze to look at him.

The last thing she remembered was being in her business partner’s car. How had she ended up here

with Cedric?

Cedric didn’t miss the confusion in her eyes.

His gaze was filled with scom as he asked coldly, “What, are you disappointed that it’s me here? Who

did you expect? Regal Horizons International’s chairman? Or Irwin Frazier?”

“Say something!” Cedric angrily shouted when he noticed Natalie ignoring him.

Her thoughts were already chaotic. They hadn’t even sorted things out between him and Isabella.

She refused to explain and deliberately said things to confuse the facts. She didn’t care about Cedric’s

darkening expression.

No one knew the emotions she had just experienced while drifting in and out of consciousness.

When she had smelled the strong scent of disinfectant and felt Cedric’s presence beside her, she had

thought…

For a moment, she thought that Cedric had forcefully brought her to the operating theater and had

removed her eyes… like he had done in her past life!

But Isabella wasn’t blind!

Tension in the air peaked as both Cedric and Natalie refused to back down.

“You’re something, Natalie! You’re really something! Even under these circumstances, you still dare to

fuss about wanting your share in the divorce!” Cedric spat angrily.

“If I’m disappointing to you now, don’t forget that you’re the one who started it first! Why wouldn’t I dare

ask for anything?” Natalie retorted with a sharp tone, further provoking the man.

Ultimately, Cedric couldn’t take it anymore. He left the room, slamming the door behind him.

It was a clear indicator of how furious he was.

Once he was gone, Natalie leaned back on the hospital bed. She closed her eyes and concealed the

“Yes, Mr. Jarvis said that staying with Ms. Sanders might disturb her daily life, so you’ll live at Elegance

Bay from now on,” Karina explained.

future home.
