Chapter 94 What’s Your Relationship with Stephen?

It really was over.

Irwin placed his wine glass down and elegantly took a bite of a piece of beef. His demeanor was

naturally refined, and his every gesture exuded elegance.

“Have you seen today’s headlines? Natalie asked.

She immediately regretted asking the question.

Irwin was such a busy man. How could he have time to read those things?

But to her surprise, he nodded.

Natalie inquired, “What do you think about it?”

“Did you do that?”

Though he was asking a question, his tone was assertive.

Natalie nodded.

“It seems like you really hate him, hmm?”

He was referring to Cedric.

If she didn’t hate him, she wouldn’t have taken such a significant matter to the public for judgment.

Natalie was an intelligent woman. Before taking this action, she knew very well the impact it would

have on Cedric. She also knew the repercussions it would have on the Johnson family.

After all, there was more to the Johnson family than meets the eye!

Natalie’s lips curled into a smile. “The emotions and grudges between him and me are beyond

anyone’s

comprehension.”

That was the truth!

Irwin commented, “You’ve made me understand one thing.”

“What is it?”

Never provoke a woman, no matter how gentle she may seem.”

Incurring a woman’s wrath would only lead to big trouble!

Natalie chuckled.

Her laughter left one wondering whether she was laughing at Irwin’s words or herself.

She used to be perceived by the entire Verde City as knowledgeable, polite, and gentle. The recent

incidents had certainly shattered everyone’s perception of her.

Now, Irwin’s perspective was that women should not be provoked, even if they appeared gentle and

delicate!

As Irwin put it, one should avoid provoking women, even those who seemed very gentle; otherwise, the

woman would bring endless trouble.

Cedric had not gone to the hospital, even though they continued to call him incessantly.

Then, he received a call from the Johnson Manor!

“Ced, I believe there are certain matters your second granduncle wishes to discuss with you properly.

Or

do you think your mother can make the decisions?”

“No need for that. I’ll be there!” Cedric said icily upon hearing the voice from the other end of the line.

In the past, he would always evade the issue when it involved the people from the Johnson Manor.

But now, those people were clearly threatening him.

Second granduncle? Hah! He didn’t acknowledge those people as his granduncles or any such

relatives!

Cedric hung up the phone and ordered Yuvan to change course to the manor.

The imposing silhouette sped through the brightly lit city, catching the eyes of many and leaving some

cars no choice but to avoid it.

When the people of the Johnson family were quiet, they were as silent as the night.

But when they decided to cause a ruckus, they were truly a force to be reckoned with.

Tonight was sure to be a sleepless night!

Cedric massaged his aching forehead.

Yuvan, who was sitting in the front, asked, “Mr. Johnson, are you really not going to the hospital?

“The nurse called me just now and said Ms. Morgan’s condition was very serious. She lost a lot of

blood today, and she kept screaming in pain during the treatment.”

“Do you believe she’s really in pain?”

Isabella was a woman who was completely uninjured, and yet she had the nerve to scream in “pain“?!

Cedric smiled mockingly.

Memories of Isabella’s pitiful appearance and Natalie’s determination to divorce him flashed through

his

mind.

Natalie had been so determined to leave him.

He, on the other hand, was such a bastard!

It wasn’t that Natalie hadn’t tried to explain, but it was him… who never listened!

Isabella had stood opposite her, painting her as the villain..

Though the truth was suddenly laid bare for everyone to see, all he could think of was one side of the

story.

But what happened in private?

Did Isabella ever call her and pressure her?

He closed his eyes, feeling the pain in his heart.

Nat… His wife…!

An indescribable pain coursed through him, and he didn’t know why it was happening. But whenever

he thought of his divorce from Natalie, he felt like he was suffocating!

After dinner, Natalie and Irwin returned to Elegance Bay together.

Someone had taken a photo of them leaving the restaurant and posted it on social media.

A wave of gossip circulated in Verde City, but most people didn’t jump to conclusions about Natalie.

They assumed she had some sort of mentor–mentee relationship with the man. After all, Irwin was

quite selective, and the whole of Verde City knew it. He looked like a refined gentleman, while Natalie

looked ke a little girl walking beside him.

The only one significantly affected by the gossip was Cedric.

“I’ll pick you up tomorrow,” Irwin said as Natalie exited the car.

Little did they know that news of their outing had already spread by the time they returned.

Natalie nodded, “Alright.”

She hadn’t driven her car back. If she asked Karina to pick her up tomorrow morning, it would be quite

a

distance for the latter to drive. It would

Natalie turned around to leave.

But Irwin suddenly said, “Wait!”

“What is it?” Natalie asked as she turned back.

Her demeanor was completely different when it came to him and Cedric.

A hint of hesitation flickered in the man’s eyes.

Natalie asked, “Is something wrong?”

Irwin was not a man who would hesitate.

The depths of his eyes seemed to hold something Natalie couldn’t quite fathom. She was puzzled by

the look.

“Mr. Frazier?”

“What’s your relationship with Mr. Jarvis? Irwin eventually asked after some hesitation.

Since they had started working together, Natalie had thought he might ask this question, but he never

did.

He didn’t seem like a nosy person.

Now, however, he had asked.

Natalie also hesitated briefly before replying. “He’s my uncle.”

Now that she and Cedric were divorced, there was no need to hide it anymore. The misunderstanding

between her and Stephen shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

But back then, she had wanted to use it to accelerate her divorce from Cedric. Ultimately, the

misunderstanding had played a role in the swift divorce.

Irwin looked at Natalie in shock

“Cedric doesn’t know?”

The more accurate question he should have asked was if the Johnson family didn’t know.

What kind of people were the Johnson family?

Irwin had never interacted with them, but he knew enough about these high society circles to realize

that

if Rebecca and Elizabeth knew that Natalie had such an uncle, they might not have allowed them to

divorce.

Over the years, they looked down on Natalie mainly because she had no connections or glorious

background

Natalie nodded. “That’s right.”

She thought it was quite funny that Cedric had acted like a fool because of her uncle.

After all, they had lived together for so many years, but she had never known that he could be so

foolish,

Irwin’s breath seemed to catch after hearing her words.

This woman really knew how to keep secrets.

Natalie had a serious expression on her face, and she asked, “Is there anything else?”

Irwin shook his head. “No.”

“So… Can I head in now?”

“Yeah.” Irwin nodded and didn’t ask any further questions.

He couldn’t help but think that Natalie was quite clever!

Cedric had also been clever during their school days. However, he never discovered his petite wife had

such an influential uncle, even until their divorce!
