Chapter 1443 That Kind Of Guilt Would Accompany Her For Life
Twins in Her Womb: Sir President, Please be Gentle
However, since Luke wanted to keep it lowkey, Johann was happy to go along with it. He could only
explain to him time and again that it was normal.
After the examination, Johann was relieved. He smiled and said, "Don't worry, there's no major
problem. I'll arrange for you to go for a brain CT scan after you wake up tomorrow. If there are no
problems, you can be discharged and rest at home."
"Are you sure that sheâs fine?" Luke asked from the side.
Johann deliberately kept a straight face and said, "Mr. Crawford, you've been looking for me every
hour tonight. I won't complain about that but please don't question my professional capabilities. All
of Dr. Craw's symptoms are caused by the concussion. Patients with concussions don't need to
worry too much. They just need to move around less and rest more.â
Luke raised his eyebrows as he listened to him. He noticed that Johann was intentionally bringing
up how much he cared about Luca in front of her.
He was avenging Luke for not letting him sleep all night.
Although Luca had a concussion, she was not stupid. She understood Johann's words and that Luke
seemed to be worried sick about her.
She lowered her gaze slightly and said, "Dr. Park, thank you."
"Donât worry about it. I'm on duty today so I know I don't have time to sleep. It's Mr. Crawford that
you should thank." Johann smiled wantonly. He turned around and told Luca, "Dr. Craw, you should
get some rest. If the wound hurts so much that you can't stand it, have the nurse give you an
analgesic jab. I've already prescribed it and it's placed there.â
Luca let out a hum and closed her eyes. She used the excuse of having to rest to escape Luke's gaze
and Johann's teasing.
She knew she would be fine because Abel's purpose had not been achieved. He would never kill her
before that.
However, she did not expect to get a concussion.
At that time, she could not take any protective measures. After all, they had to make it seem real for
Luke to not have any doubts...
They were faced with Luke, not some ordinary man.
After Johann left, Luke said calmly, "Call out to me if you need me."
"Thank you.â Luca thanked him, but her eyes remained closed.
After that, she heard the sound of the accompanying bed unfolding. As Johann mentioned, it
seemed that Luke had been running around without getting any sleep.
âIs he going to bed after seeing that I woke up?
Luca thought about it, and her emotions overtook her for a second. However, she soon calmed
down. She could not overthink it because he was Luke...
The man was rumored to be involved with Tia.
The next day.
Luca felt much better when she woke up. She blinked and heard a noise outside the hallway as if
someone was talking.
She heard Luke's voice.
The door of the ward was open. Luca looked toward the door subconsciously and found that the
person who came in was a nurse.
When the nurse saw that she was up, she smiled and asked, "Ms. Luca, are you awake? How do you
feel now?"
"I'm feeling better than I did last night. I don't feel dizzy anymore,â Luca said.
"That's good. I'm going to bring you to the CT room for a brain CT scan. Do you want to use a
wheeled stretcher or a wheelchair?" the nurse asked. The CT scan was slotted in by Johann last
night.
To get the CT results as soon as possible, Luca's check-up was set as the first appointment of the
day.
"Wheelchair," Luca said. She did not feel dizzy now and thought that it would be too much of a fuss
if she used the wheeled stretcher.
"Okay, I'll bring you a wheelchair,â the nurse said with a smile, then turned around and walked out
of the ward to get a wheelchair.
The moment she opened the door, Luca heard the conversation outside the room more clearly. The
police were having a chat with Luke...
He must have been the one who called the police the day before, so it was not unusual for the
police to come to him to get a statement.
After the nurse pushed the wheelchair in, Luca got out of bed carefully with her help and got in the
wheelchair. She asked, "Are Mr. Crawford and the police talking outside?"
"Yes, the police came here early in the morning and said that they want you to make a statement
but you haven't woken up yet. That's why they went to speak to Mr. Crawford first," the nurse
explained.
Luca asked, "They didn't ask for a statement last night?"
"No, I heard that Mr. Crawford disagreed with it. He was worried that it would affect your rest,â the
nurse said as she pushed Luca out of the ward.
Luke was standing in the hallway. His gaze turned toward Luca when she was being pushed out of
the ward. He asked, "She's going for a check-up?"
"Yes, Ms. Luca's check-up is first in line so I'll send her downstairs for a CT scan now," the nurse
replied.
Luke looked at Luca, who was sitting in the wheelchair. Her face was still pale. He frowned and
asked, "Are there any potential issues with using the wheelchair?"
He remembered Johann telling Luca to move as little as possible.
"This is not a big problem. As long as the patient doesn't feel dizzy, she can sit up. I'll send Ms. Luca
down now," the nurse said with a smile as she pushed Luca away.
Luca kept quiet the entire time, letting the nurse push her downstairs for a check-up.
She was scheduled first, and the brain CT scan did not take more than a few minutes. The check-up
was soon completed. She sat in a wheelchair and let the nurse push her to the ward.
"If there's nothing wrong with the CT scan, can I be discharged from the hospital today?" Luca
asked.
"Yes, but is there anyone else in your family?" the nurse asked.
"No, my brother is on a business trip. I'm the only one here.â Luca lowered her gaze. She was afraid
to shake her head for fear that she might still have a concussion.
"In that case, why don't you stay in the hospital for two more days? After all, some patients with
concussions will have recurring symptoms and need someone to take care of them. It's not good for
you to be at home alone. I heard that your house is the scene of the crime. The police have yet to
release the scene and it's a mess inside. It's not the best idea for you to live there.â The nurse
analyzed it enthusiastically.
"It doesn't matter, I'll just stay in a hotel.â Luca knew that the house was temporarily unavailable.
She had no intention of living there anymore.
As soon as she walked into the house, she would remember how a security guard lost his life
because of her incapability.
That kind of guilt would accompany her for life.
She might feel better if the security guard was a heinous person. She would not feel any pity. After
all, what went around came back around. However, what was the worst that the security guard
could have done?
Even if he had done something wrong, he was not a wicked person...
Luca thought that even if she could go back to the house, she would never move back in.
However, in that case, she had to look for a house again...
As she thought about it, the nurse pushed her back to the ward.
Luke was standing at the door of the ward together with the two policemen. They did not speak as
if they were all waiting for her.
