Chapter 131
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 131
An hour later, as Gabriel instructed, David gathered all the workers working in the hospital that day.
Out of the seven people expected, only six showed up.
âOne person was fired by the leader that day for not doing a good job,â David explained.
âThe person who was fired is called Yale. He just came here not long ago as an apprentice, and I heard heâs quite old.â
âI think this person is the most suspicious, so Iâve already sent someone to find him. But, after checking his identity and trying to trace him, we found nothing. He must be using a fake identity.â
In that case, the remaining six people were basically cleared of suspicion.
âMr. Jackson, can we let them leave? They said they are in a hurry to start work today.
âWait.â
Gabriel decided to go ask them some questions himself
âDo any of you remember what Yale looks like? Can you roughly describe him?â Gabriel asked.
They looked at each other for a moment.
Suddenly, a worker slapped his head. âI took a photo the other day. I think I just happened to take a photo of him!â
âLet me see.â
âOkay, okay.â
The worker showed Gabriel the photo which only showed the personâs back wearing a workerâs uniform and a hard hat, without capturing his face,
Gabriel asked the worker to send him the photo, and then David gave them money for their hard work and allowed them to leave.
With this photo, along with checking the surveillance footage, he would have more clues about the person,
âMr. Jackson, have a good rest. Iâll oversee the work. If there are any new clues, Iâll call you immediately,â David said.
Gabriel shook his head. âNo, Iâm going to tell Gina this good news.â
He was really thinking about her.
Detention center.
Gina came to the guest room again.
âGina, Iâve got some key
key clues in hand. The truth will be revealed soon.â
Gabriel sounded slightly excited
Gina smiled faintly at Gabrielâs excitement and suddenly felt like teasing him. âSo youâve been busy with these things for the past two days.â

Chapter 131
âWhatâs wrong?â Gabriel was stunned.
âNo one has come to visit me since I came in.â
Olivia had come, but Gina didnât consider her a visitor, and Olivia wasnât there for a visit either.
The smile on Gabrielâs face disappeared. Iâm sorry, Gina. I was planning to tell you the good news after finding evidence of your innocence. Iâm sorry. I should have come to visit you immediately. I was wrongâ
Gabriel blamed himself for disappointing Gina,
Gina was somewhat surprised. She was only joking with him and neither accused nor got angry with him. She didnât expect his reaction to be so strong.
âIâm just kidding.â Gina felt a bit embarrassed.
âI wonât let you down again,â Gabriel said firmly.
In fact, Gina didnât care whether anyone came to visit her or not because she knew she would be cut soon.
âRuby came to see me,â Gabriel said.
âWhat does she want with you?â
âShe begged me to save you
âShe saw the announcement from the Jackson Group and thought I didnât believe you. But she had no other choice. She didnât know who else to turn to,
so she came to me for help.â
Gina knew that Gabriel wasnât helping her investigate because of her godmotherâs plea. Hearing that her godmother had begged him made Gina feel inexplicably sad.
âWhat happened next?â asked Gina.
âRuby misunderstood the announcement. I told her that I would prove your innocence, so I let her go home to rest
Gabriel chuckled. âActually, itâs not just Ruby who misunderstood. My dad did too. He also thought that by issuing the announcement, I didnât trust you, and he scolded me for being ungrateful.â
Gina was somewhat surprised, then jokingly said, âSo, itâs my fault for making you issue the announcement?â
âNo, of course not, Gina. Iâm saying all this to tell you that youâre not alone. Many people care about you and love you.â
Gina was stunned, feeling a rush of happiness in her heart.
She smiled genuinely, with a hint of joy in her clear, bright eyes.
Gabriel also noticed this and felt very pleased.
âIâm sorry for making you worry. I should tell you that even if Iâm in prison, there will be people helping me and working on proving my innocence.â
Gabriel knew that Gina had so many hidden identities, so her subordinates were definitely not idle. However, Gabriel didnât want to be someone who just benefited from othersâ efforts. If he liked Gina/he should be willing to contribute to her.
âIn the future, you can entrust me with anythingâ Gabriel said seriously.
Chapter 131
24 May
âEntrust you? Mr. Jackson, are you offering to be my assistant?â Gina asked teasingly.
âMy pleasure.â
Gabrielâs eyes were filled with sincerity.
âThen Iâll wait for you to submit evidence and set me free,â Gina said.
âOkay.â Gabriel nodded. âBy the way, Gina, Iâve narrowed down the suspect and Iâm fairly certain, but his identity isnât entirely clear yet. I have a photo of the suspect now, so Iâll soon find out his whereabouts.â
âPhoto? Let me take a look.â
Gina was also very curious about who the real culprit was.
Gabriel took out the photo. âOnly the back viewâ¦
When Gina saw the photo, she felt it was somewhat familiar. Suddenly, she thought of someone.
âI know who he is,â
Gina blurted out.
Gabriel was surprised. âWho?â
âLucas.
She would not be mistaken.
Gina had a good memory, and Lucas could be considered an acquaintance. She would never mistake this back.
The Miller familyâs butler?
Gabriel was surprised. Was the Miller family really behind all this planning? Were they so desperate that theyâd let their butler kill Phillip to frame Gina? They must be out of their minds.
His previous suspicion was right. It was indeed a gang or even a crazy family.
âIâll send them all to jail.â
Gabrielâs expression hardened, and his gaze turned cold.
Gina shook her head. âOther than Olivia, no one else should be involved.â
Even though they were all selfish and c** g, including Ella, they wouldnât have gone as far as to kill Phillip. Besides, Ellaâs genuine grief when she saw Phillipâs body didnât seem like an act.
âHow did Olivia manage to get Lucas to help her do such a thing?â
Gabriel was puzzled, believing that Olivia was the mastermind.
âShe doesnât need to use any means; Lucas would willingly help her.â
Gina now understood their motives. With Ginaâs hidden identity exposed, Olivia panicked, fearing that members of the Miller family would try to recognize her again.
She wanted to make Gina an enemy of the Miller family so that Olivia could forever remain the beloved daughter of the Miller family.
