Chapter 15
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 15
No wonder Gina didnât react when Olivia provoked Gina with her engagement to Ethan, Gina had already found someone
better.
Neil was surprised. Gabriel knew Gina?
âUncle Gabriel, who are you going to ask? Do you know Ms. Gena?â Ethan asked, bringing everyone back to the topic.
âNot personally,â Gabriel replied coldly. However, Gabriel knew Anthony Campbell from the International Painting Society. Gena was the president of the International Painting Society and Atnhonyâs teacher. Anthony would know about it
âGood. Then you can ask Mr. Campbell, Uncle Gabriel. But before that,â Ethan glared at Gina and continued, âIf itâs real, youâll have to apologize to Olivia on your knees.â
Gabrielâs eyes turned to ice. He spoke sternly, âHave you forgotten what I said?â He had told Ethan to mind his words.
Ethan was startled by Gabrielâs gaze. Gabriel looked like he wanted him dead. Ethan swallowed and pursed his lips.
Sensing the tension, Olivia played the mediator again. âNo need. As long as Iâm proven innocent, Iâm good, even if Cina doesnât apologize. I know you hate me, Gina, and feel I stole everything that belonged to you. Iâm hoping we can patch things up. Gina, I want us to be sisters, for real!â
Some servants who knew nothing started sympathizing with Olivia as she looked pitiful.
âSure. Leave the Miller family and return everything that belongs to me, Gina responded with a half smile.
Olivia went speechless and could only cry.
Ethan wanted to smack Gina. Gina was disrespecting him by bullying Olivia. But Neil and Gabriel seemed to side with Gina. Ethan didnât dare act recklessly. âGrandpa, if Gina wrongly accuses Olivia, shouldnât she apologize?*
Neil looked grave and didnât speak.
Gina didnât want to put Neil on the spot. âIf this is genuine, Iâll apologize as you say. But thatâs impossible.â
âStubborn bitch, Olivia cursed. She didnât think Gina would know anything about paintings. She looked forward to seeing Gina apologize.
Ethan rolled his eyes.
Gabriel called Anthony.
Anthony answered. âMr. Jackson, are you looking to buy some paintings for your father?â
âNo. Iâve something to ask you.â Gabriel put the call on speaker so everyone could hear.)
Anthony replied, âSure. Go on.â
âDid Ms. Cena create any paintings lately? Gabriel asked.
Anthony hesitated. âHonestly, Mr. Jackson, this concerns Ms. Genaâs privacy. I canât disclose it. After all, Gena was mysterious.

Chapter 15
Gina raised a brow. âTell them, Mr. Campbell. Itâs important.â
The voice made Anthony jump. He cleared his throat. âFine. Since you ask, Mr. Jackson, Iâll tell you. Ms. Gena hadnât created any new pieces for nearly a year.â
âGot it.â Gabriel hung up and looked at Olivia sharply.
Oliviaâs knees went weak. How was that possible?
Neilâs face turned glum. He threw the painting aside.
Alarm bells went off in Oliviaâs head. Tâm sorry, Mr. Jackson, I didnât know it was a fake. I was deceived. I wouldnât have given it to you otherwise. I didnât expect this,â
Ethan panicked too.
Neil didnât react much. âStop crying.â
Oliviaâs sobs halted.
âGo back and calm down. Neil told Olivia
Olivia would be seen as a laughingstock if she were driven out halfway through the party. However, Olivia knew she was at fault and couldnât beg for mercy. She hated Gina to the core. She would remember todayâs humiliation.
Before leaving. Olivia said pretentiously, âMr. Jackson, please donât be upset because of me. Iâm sorry
Neil wasnât upset. He thought Olivia interrupted his meal with Gina and should simply leave. âHold on.â
Olivia turned around. her eyes bright. Did Neil change his mind?
âTake this with you.â Neil pointed to the fake painting.
Humiliated, Olivia took it. Ethan sent Olivia out.
Gabriel sat next to Gina. Gina was surprised. Why did he sit so close to her? It felt uncomfortable. However, since this was his home, Gina didnât comment.
Neil narrowed his eyes. Something was up. Gabriel was hiding something from him.
âGina, you knew Gabriel?â Neil asked.
âKinda. We met in school.â Gina had met Gabriel a few times, but Gabriel seemed to know her for a long time. Gina searched her memory but couldnât recall him. Nevertheless, she felt like she had forgotten something.
âI see. Neil dragged out his words meaningfully. Gabriel secretly had his eye on Gina yet lied to him about not wanting to marry. Neil cleared his throat. âGina, are you dating?â
Neil was trying to help Gabriel. Hopefully, Gabriel didnât disappoint him and render his efforts in vain.
Gina replied calmly, âNo.â
âThatâs goodâ¦â Neil realized he was too excited and changed his tune. âI mean, thatâs odd. Youâre so outstanding. There must be a lot of people pursuing you, right?â Neil was trying to tell Gabriel he had to impress Gina.
