Chapter 186
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 186
âWhen? Where?â Gina inquired.
âFour years ago, in Mosnioca,â Gabriel mentioned two key points, watching to see if Gina could recall anything from that.
Gina tried to remember but drew a blank.
Even the inability to recall any memories related to it made her feel irritable. âWeâve met before, and so what?â
Gina looked up at Gabriel.
But at this moment, Gabriel hesitated. He asked, âDo you want to know? If you want to know, Iâll tell you everything that happened back then.â
Gina noticed Gabrielâs hesitation and shook her head. âForget it. Itâs fine until the day I regain my memory.â
Ever since she realized she might have had a memory loss, Gina had been pondering who could have erased her memories. If it was due to medication, she was sure she could find out. If it was due to an injury, there was no sign of a blow to the back of her head.
Gina considered one possibility.
âCould it be⦠Could it be that I had actively chosen to erase that period of my memory?â she wondered.
Gina thought this was quite Ekely.
If she had chosen to erase it, then she wouldnât want to remember it, nor would she be curious about it.
The atmosphere seemed to become heavy and awkward, and Gabriel did not continue the topic. In fact, he was not yet ready to tell Gina about what had happened back thenâ¦
Gabriel changed the subject. âMy dad said he misses you and that you should visit the Jackson family when you have time.â
Gina nodded.
After they finished planting the medicinal herbs, on the way back, Gabriel felt the atmosphere in the car wasnât as good as when they had come. He wanted to talk to Gina more but found himself at a loss for words. âGina, Iâ¦â
Before Gabriel could finish bis sentence, David suddenly made a turn, causing Gina, who was unprepared, to fall into Gabrielâs arms. Gabriel frowned and looked up to ask, âWhatâs going on?â
David was also speechless. âMr. Jackson, a car was driving the wrong way, and we almost collided.â
David felt the urge to get out of the car and start yelling.
Andy, in the other car, got out nervously. He looked at the car he had scraped and realized it
I was a Rolls Royceâ¦
Andy wanted to run, but he know that the people in the car were likely wealthy and influential, and there was no way he could escape.
He could only brace himself and approach to knock on the car window.
David got out of the car. âWhatâs your problem? How do you drive like that? Donât you value your life?â
Andy, thinking David was the car owner, bowed and apologized profusely, âIâm so sorry⦠Iâm really sorryâ¦â

âThereâs no need for apologies. Letâs get straight to discussing compensation.â David didnât want to waste words.
âH⦠how much do you think it will cost?â Andy saw a very obvious dent on the Rolls Royce.
His legs began to feel weak,
David estimated. âThis is a custom model, and the repair cost will be much higher than normal, probably around 200 to 400 thousand dollars.â
â200 to 400 thousand dollars?â
Andy was so frightened that he almost knelt down. âI donât have that much money!â
David was speechless. âThen why were you driving the wrong way? As an adult, you have to take responsibility for your actions. If I hadnât avoided you just now, it wouldnât just have been a matter of the car being damaged!â
Andy looked extremely worried. âI canât afford to payâ¦â
âCanât afford to pay it off all at once? Then pay it off gradually. Consider it a lesson for yourself. Youâre still quite young, arenât you? If you canât pay it off in one year, then take two. If two years arenât enough, take ten. If ten years arenât enough, then twenty.â David said
Andyâs face turned pale.
David didnât want to waste any more time talking and took Andyâs contact information before getting back in the car.
âMr. Jackson, itâs been taken care of. Il contact him later to discuss the compensation, David said.
âOkay,â Gabriel responded indifferently, not too concerned,
Gabrielâs attention returned to Gina. âGina, why donât we take advantage of the free time we have now? How about we go to my place for dinner
tonight?â
Gina looked pensive. âLetâs do it another day. Tonight, I just want to have some drinks.â
Gabriel was slightly taken aback. âAlright, where should we go?â
âIsnât there a bar under your name?â Gina asked.
âSure, letâs go to Night Bar,â Gabriel agreed.
Upon arriving at the bar, Gabriel and Gina entered a private room.
After a few drinks, Gabriel asked, âGina, are you feeling down?â.
Gina had always been the type to speak her mind. âYeah, Iâve been thinking that maybe I didnât lose my memory. Maybe I wanted to erase that period of my life.
âI consider myself someone who can endure a lot of pain. If I made up my mind to erase a memory, it must have been something really. And you said
weâve met before.
âBut if our meeting was also erased, does that mean something unpleasant happened between us?â
âYes, there was,â Gabriel admitted without lying

Gina let out a helpless smile. âForget it. Letâs not bring this up again in the futureâ
With Rubyâs recent passing. Gina didnât want to cause herself any
any more distress.
âAlright.â Gabriel agreed, naturally choosing to follow Ginaâs wishes.
With their conversation out in the open, the atmosphere between them eased considerably, and Gina felt a slight buzz. âI want to go home now.â
âAlright, Iâll take you home,â Gabriel said.
âAlright, Iâll take you h
Before they could even leave Night Bar, Gina heard what seemed to be an argument at the entrance.
âCathy, Iâm begging you. Please help me out. This bar is very famous. Youâll definitely make a lot of money working as a hostess here. Althoughâ¦. although you might get harassed by customers, I donât mind. 1 also understand itâs a big sacrifice, but Iâm really at the end of my options here!â
âI donât want to, Andy. Canât we think of another way?â
âWhat other way? Tell me. What other way is there?â
Gina walked out the door and looked toward the source of the noise, recognizing the man who was dragging and pleading with the woman as the one who had scratched Gabrielâs car earlier that day.
Gina frowned, guessing the situation. The man couldnât afford the repair costs for the Rolls Royce and was now trying to force⦠presumably his girlfriend⦠to work as a hostess?
Unable to stand by and watch, Gina stepped forward and directly pulled the two apart.
Andy looked up at Gina, initially wanting to curse, but upon seeing Ginaâs stunning face, he couldnât bring himself to utter any harsh words. âYou⦠beautiful lady, what are you doing?â
Cathyâs eyes were red as she looked down.
Gina stared at Andy coldly. âYou canât afford the repair costs for the Rolls Royce, so why donât you sell yourself instead of forcing someone else to make sacrifices for your mistake?â
Andy was taken aback. How did she know about that? He then recalled that when the car owner David had gotten out of the car earlier, there had been someone in the back seat. So, this woman must be the car ownerâs lover?
