“Hold on, When are you free? Let’s eat together.” Afraid Gina would decline, Gabriela added, “Grandpa is coming too. He misses you.”

Gina thought Gabriel was being absurd. Didn’t they just part ways?

Gabriel continued, “How about tomorrow?” He hoped to see Gina every day.

Gina thought about it and agreed.

Gabriel was happy. “I’ll arrange the time and place.”

“Tomorrow night,” Gina suggested. She wanted to buy a gift as she went empty–handed to Neil’s birthday party.

Gabriel nodded.

“Is that all? Can I go now?” Gina asked.

Gabriel felt exasperated. Was she in such a hurry to leave?

They said their goodbyes and Gina left.

Gina’s phone rang when she reached the hospital entrance. She answered it. “Caleb.

“Gina, how have you been? How’s it been with your family? Good?” Caleb Miles was concerned.
