Chapter 203
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 203
Gina wouldnât have eaten anything that were sent by a random person. This realization made Dylan angry. âGina trusted her so much, but she tried to kill her with poison? What a snake!â
At that moment, David walked into Dylanâs room. âMr. Jackson, weâve found the person who made the pie,â David said solemnly.
âLet her in.â Gabrielâs tone was cold as ice.
Cathy was still oblivious about what had happened. When she was brought over to see Gabriel, she was quite nervous.
The moment she saw Gabriel, Cathy didnât dare to make eye contact with him. She said with her head down, âMr. Jackson, why are you looking for me?â
Cathy thought it must be because of Andyâs past action. âIs it because my boyfriend scratched your car? Donât worry, weâre already working hard to earn money. Weâll definitely cover for your carâs repair. We wonât go back on our word!â She said sincerely.
Gabriel ignored Cathyâs nonsense and went straight to the point. âYou put rat poison in your pumpkin pie, didnât you?â
Cathy was shocked. She lifted her eyes and looked at Gabriel. His cold eyes were filled with restrained anger as if he wanted to throw her off a cliff. Cathy unconsciously broke out in cold sweat and hurriedly denied, âI didnât! How could I possibly put rat poison in my food?â
Cathy returned to her senses and asked, âMiss Miller, did something happened to her?â
Gabriel didnât have the patience to deal with her. âThen why is this box of pumpkin pie that you made has rat poison in it? Tell me the truth, and youâll have the luxury of a quick death!â
Cathy was mortified. âIs he going to kill me? But why? What did I do wrong?â
Cathy quickly shook her head, âMr. Jackson, I made my pumpkin pie with organic ingredients, and Miss Miller has been kind to me. Why would I repay her kindness in such a twisted way?â
âSo youâre saying that someone framed you?â Dylan chimed in
Cathy nodded her head repeatedly. âI can guarantee that when I made the pumpkin pie and delivered it to Miss Miller, I didât put any chemicals in it. There should be no problem with it
âBut after your pumpkin pie fell into Ginaâs hands, she had been carrying it alone. Then, she went to see Mr. Jackson. Co it be that someone put rat poison when she carried it? Or did a ghost put rat poison while you were mixing the custard pic had put Ginaâs life in grave danger, and Dylan refused to buy Cathyâs words.
âI-I donât know! But I bet on my life that my pumpkin pie is no the problem. Could it be Miss Miller ate something e today?â Cathy guessed in a daze.
David suddenly interrupted, âMr. Jackson, after investigation, we found out that Cathy and Olivia are friends,â
Davidâs words made Dylan and Gabriel even more suspicious of Cathy.
Gabriel recalled about Olivia and her cheap friends such as Lily Allen, Hazel Baker, and the list went on. They once colluded with Olivia to frame Gina. Because of this, Gabriel looked at Cathy coldly, âDid you plot something with Olivia? You and that b*tch plans to kill Gina, right?â
âNo, absolutely not!â Cathy cried out in fear.
âSo she framed you?â Dylan asked.

Chapter 203
Cathy thought for a moment and answered, âNo, I didnât even tell her. Baking that pumpkin pie for Miss Miller was my initiative. How could she possibly put rat poison in the pie?â Although Cathy knew there was a deep hatred between Olivia and Gina, she didnât want to wrongly accuse Olivia
âThen did
ou tell anyone else?â Dylan asked annoyedly.
Cathyâs heart skipped a beat. âI toldâ¦â
Dylan continued to ask, âWho did you tell? Tell us!â
Cathy started to stutter. She wasnât someone who was good at lying. Moreover, she had always remembered her motherâs teachings and treated others sincerely. However, she didnât want to implicate Andy.
Gabriel didnât have the patience to waste a second with her. He immediately instructed David, âCheck her phone.â
Cathy was flustered. She knew she couldnât hide it even if she wanted to. She could only break down and admit it. âI only told my boyfriend, but he didnât touch my pastry at all. Moreover, he had no motives to poison Miss Millerâ
âMr. Jackson. I can guarantee that the pumpkin pie I made is definitely fine. Thereâs something fishy about this! Are you sure Miss Miller isnât poisoned by something else?â Cathy retorted with a pale face.
Gabriel wouldnât easily believe her. Cathy, Andy and Olivia. One of those three people should be the culprit. Gabriel didnât plan to let any of them off. If it wasnât for the fact that Cathy was extremely timid, Gabriel would have taken her to the police long ago. He used his remaining rationality and empathy to restrain himself.
With a cold face, Gabriel pointed at the pumpkin pie on the desk. âYou keep saying that thereâs nothing wrong with your pie, and Gina might ate something else that caused her to be poisoned. If so, do you dare to eat it?â
Cathy looked at the pumpkin pie on the table. She was in a panic and had no idea what she had to do to prove her innocence. So, she made up her mind and nodded. âIâll eat the ple.â
Without hesitation, Cathy grabbed a piece of the pumpkin pie and ate it. After she finished eating, she explained, âMr. Jackson, I believe this will prove my innocence. I know you wonât harm a good person. You mightâve done something that caused Andy to scratch your car, and I admit we were wrong, but I wonât admit to something I didnât do. I wonât lie anyone!â
Gabriel wasnât interested to hear Cathyâs words. Before Cathy could make a solid point to prove her innocence, no matter how sincere she sounded or how innocent she appeared, Gabriel wouldnât stop suspecting her.
Afterward, he said to David, âBring Andy and Olivia over, especially Olivia. Donât let her escape.
âYes.â
Hearing Gabriel requesting David to bring Andy over, Cathy started to panic. âMr. Jackson, I told you, this matter has nothing to do with my boyfriend!â
âWhether itâs related or not, itâs not something that can be determined with your one-sided words,â Gabriel said coldly.
Cathy wanted to say something, but in the next second, the poison started to take effect. Her stomach was in pain, and she spat out blood. Her legs went soft and she knelt on the ground. Before she fainted, Cathy asked, âMr. Jackson, Miss Millerâ¦. how is she?â Then, Cathy fainted.
Dylan saw that Cathy had fainted from the pain. It was impossible for him to leave her in the lurch. He asked Gabriel, âIâll get someone to pump her stomach. We canât delay it. If weâre a second late, she might lose her life!â He indirectly asked Gabriel to make a quick decision.
Gabriel nodded in agreement. If Cathy was proved to be the culprit, he would leave Cathy to succumb to the pain and die. But it seemed Cathy had made a solid point of her innocence, and Gabriel wasnât someone who would kill the innocent.

At the same time, Olivia was relaxing in an apartment, feeling excited. By that time, she knew Gina had taken a bite of Cathyâs pic.
