Chapter 256
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 256
âWhat if there are fingerprints? What does that prove? Weâre colleagues; itâs normal to have some contact, Alban argued defiantly.
Jade, hiding in the bathroom, couldnât stand it any longer. Suddenly, she remembered a detail she had unintentionally overlooked. Gathering her courage, she pushed open the bathroom door and said, âLast night, the person who tried to force himself on me took his clothes off. I scratched him forcefully on his back. I have long nails, so there must be marks!â
Ginaâs cold gaze fell on Alban. Alban inexplicably felt a chill down his spine and swallowed nervously.
âTake off your clothes,â Gina ordered.
Alban clenched his fists. âIâm just saying, even though times have changed, we havenât reached a point where women can just falsely accuse men of wrongdoing. Do you three want to see me take my clothes off?â
Albanâs audacity exasperated Alison. âJust show us your back so we can see if there are any scratches,â she said.
Alban gritted his teeth. âI disagree. I have my dignity.â
Gina stood up. âI donât want to waste time listening to your nonsense,â she said curtly.
Alban smirked. He worked out daily, Jade was a coward, and Alison was as thin as a rail. He could handle all three of them without any problems.
Alban also stood up. âGina Miller, donât put on airs here. Do you think I donât know how you got into Quaria? You climbed into Mr. Clarkâs bed. What right do you have now as someone who used her position to question me? I suggest you mind your own business!â
Smack! Gina delivered a resounding slap across Allianâs face. Alban was immediately infuriated. âYouâ¦.
He wanted to hit back, but as soon as he reached out, Gina grabbed his hand and swiftly twisted it behind his back. Alban felt a sharp pain and was surprised to discover how strong Gina was
He felt like he was about to have his bones broken. âAh! Stop, donât twist my hand; it hurts so much!â
Gina let go of Albanâs hand, not because she wanted to let him off the hook, but because she found him dirty and didnât want to touch him anymore.
Alban thought Gina had let her guard down and tried to catch her off guard. However, Gina swiftly kicked him t ground before he could act. Not giving him any chance to pull more tricks, she planted her foot firmly on his ne remarked, âMaybe I should have worn high heels today, something sharper.
Alban sensed the implicit threat in her words-if he angered her further, she might cut his throat. Reluctantly, he ha admit that he was no match for Gina. âPlease, stop stepping on me, he pleaded, âI canât take it.â
âIâm not in the mood to let you take your time answering my questions. Just respond with yes or no, Gina said.
âAlison, get ready to record, Gina said to Alison.
Alison snapped out of her daze and quickly opened the recording app on her phone.
âDid you sneak into Jadeâs room with ill intentions last night? Answer me, Gina demanded, pressing down harder.
y-yes, it was me. I lost my senses for a moment. I like Jade so much. I had a bit to drink last night, and my head was dizzy. When the power went out, I originally wanted to check if she was scared, but then the alcohol got to me, and I just⦠Iâm sorry; I know I was wrong and deeply regret it. My behavior was inexcusable, but I didnât cause Jade any actual harm, did I?*

Chapter 256
Jade, enraged, retorted, Thatâs because I defended myself well and kicked you, stopping you from continuing your assault!â
Alban had a remarkable tolerance for pain, whether grabbed or kicked by Jade. He endured it all without making a sound to avoid being identified. However, after working together for a year and seeing each other almost daily, Alban completely underestimated how well she knew him. Alternatively, he was too foolish and arrogant to think he wouldnât be recognized.
Alban couldnât help but feel a bit dissatisfied. He didnât understand why Jade was so relentless, mainly because he hadnât succeeded in his intentions. He even dared to say, âYou dare to act. If your kick had seriously injured me, do you think you could escape responsibility?â
âYouâ¦â Jadeâs eyes welled up with anger.
Gina frowned and said, âAs of today, you are no longer an employee of Quaria and will not receive any compensation.â
Alban had anticipated and accepted this outcome, feeling that being fired wasnât a big deal. He still had a knack for design. and could easily find another job. He even felt a bit smug, thinking that Ginaâs imposing stance couldnât harm him, could it?
Jade felt touched that Gina had directly fired Alban. It eased her mind considerably.
Alban pretended to show remorse and said, âOkayâ Gina then moved her foot, finally allowing Alban to stand up. However, a hint of wariness was in his eyes as he looked at Gina.
Gina asked Jade, âHow do you want to handle this matter?â
Jade still insisted on not involving the police. After all, she hadnât been harmed, and even if she did report it, it probably wouldnât lead to any serious consequences for Alban. She was just glad to see him kicked out of Quaria. Of course, an apology was essential. âApologize. Get your knees down and apologize to me,â Jade demanded, her voice filled with anger,
âJade Arnold, youâre being unreasonable!â A manâs dignity is precious! How could he casually kneel to her?
âYes or no?â Gina asked coldly, exuding an oppressive intensity.
Alban felt his legs involuntarily weaken. He knew that if he refused, he would likely face another beating. With a sense of humiliation, he knelt and lowered his head to apologize to Jade. Iâm sorry. I shouldnât have acted so recklessly towards you last night. I realize I caused you psychological harm, and Iâm deeply sorry
Jade didnât find Albanâs apology sincere enough. Summoning her courage, she stepped forward and slapped Alban. One slap wasnât enough
to vent her frustration, so she delivered another. Looking at Albanâs swollen face, her heart finally felt calme
Alban gritted his teeth in anger.
Gina decisively ended the matter, telling Alban, âYou can pack up and leave now. And watch your mouth; donât speak ou turn.â Gina warned Alban against retaliating against Jade or spreading rumors afterward. Jade herself didnât want this incident to become public knowledge, so it was important for all parties involved to keep it confidential.
Alban nodded. âGot it, got it.â
âGet lost,â Gina said, not wanting to see this nuisance in her presence anymore.
Alban quickly left as well.
Jade was particularly moved, her eyes welling up with tears. âMiss Miller, thank you⦠She hadnât expected Gina to be righteous, standing up for her like a heroine.
