Chapter 317
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 317
Cathy remained silent for a moment. Gina grew a bit displeased. Are you still trying to protect your boyfriend regarding matters of life and death?â
Cathy was taken aback when Gina hit the nail on the head. Initially, she found the contract unreasonable but couldnât resist Andyâs persuasion.
Signing that contract felt like signing away her autonomy, akin to indentured servitude. And it wasnât just her; she suspected. other girls who experienced shock from blood donation might be in the same predicament. Unlike her, those unable to pay the breach fee werenât as fortunate to encounter Gina. If she withheld information from Gina, it would be indirectly causing harm, even leading to fatalities.
âIndeed, heâs constantly recruiting people to become mobile blood banks,â Cathy admitted truthfully.
Try to stop him as much as possible, Gina paused. âConsider it as repaying me.â
âAlright, Iâll do my best.â Cathy replied, meeting Ginaâs gaze.
Finally, Gina added. âBe careful, donât let Andy find out, and donât get yourself hurt.â Andy wasnât a good person, let alone a suitable match. Gina saw through him better than Cathy did.
Cathy nodded silently.
âGo back and rest well, Gina said.
After Cathy left. Gina walked far away and found a quiet spot before calling Michael. âInvestigate Blue Vale Hospital. They attract a large number of people to donate blood with high salaries. Find out where the blood they collect ends up.â
âGot it,â Michael replied solemnly. He continued, âBy the way, Gina, Colin Barnes is looking for two other collectors with the 79 Lafite. It seems like he loves that wine. Without one bottle in his collection, heâs keen on acquiring the only two remaining exquisite bottles worldwide.â
Gina instructed Michael to closely monitor Colin and see what other tricks he might have. She found the discovery quite intriguing. With a faint smile, Gina added, âStay ahead of him. Find those two collectors first and purchase the wine.â
âUnderstood,â Michael said.
Gina hung up the phone and realized she was being followed. Without alerting the follower, she continued, taking a less crowded route once she reached her apartment complex.
Ivan felt increasingly uneasy but couldnât quite understand what was wrong. He continued to follow, intending to turn the corner, when suddenly he was kicked hard. The blow landed in his lower abdomen, narrowly missing a more sensitive area. Ivan looked at Gina in anger.
Gina recognized Ivan. âAre you Millers never going to leave me alone? Didnât you say you wouldnât bother me again?â
Ivanâs expression turned cold. âMom did say that, but the condition was for you to help Miller Jewels through the tough times, not snatch it awayâ
âSnatch it away?â Gina found it somewhat amusing. âWithout me Miller Jewels would have turned into a mess.
In fact, without Ginaâs investment arrangements and the personally designed Wish collection, Miller Jewels would have been nothing but a sinking ship.
âI advise you, Gina Miller, to return Miller Jewels to us before I lose my patience and stop being civil,â Ivan said menacingly.
Gina responded calmly, âThatâs not going to happen.â

Chapter 317
âYou wonât cry until you see the consequences, wit
you?â Ivan gritted his teeth. âGina Miller, even if you die, your blood ties to the Miller family canât be severed. All your assets will still end up with us.â
Gina chuckled. âIf you want my inheritance, you might have no chance to take it.â
now.â
âIs that so?â Ivan sneered, âDonât underestimate me. I could take your life right
Ivan pulled out a handgun and aimed it at Gina. âThis gun is equipped with a silencer. I can make sure you die quietly in this alley
Gina remained unfazed, her expression still calm and composed. âIs that so? Then go ahead and shoot.â
Ivan was taken aback. He couldnât detect a hint of fear on Ginaâs face. Why wasnât she scared? Instead, her unnerving calmness was almost terrifying. How could anyone not be afraid when faced with a gun, especially when it was pointed at their head? And Gina was a woman. âDa*n it, she must be some freak! he thought.
Ivan thought that Gina still didnât grasp the seriousness of the situation. âDo you think Iâm bluffing? Or do you believe this gun isnât real and canât kill you? Donât assume that just because you have status, influence, and Gabrielâs protection, I wonât dare to kill you. Killing you means I get all your assets and can still walk away unscathed. Do you think Iâm joking with you?â
However, heâd need to share some benefits with the mercenary group to get away cleanly. Killing someone and covering it up wasnât easy, but offering rewards was no big deal. After all, Gipa was wealthy. Once he got his hands on her assets. affording those rewards wouldnât be a problem.
âI doubt it. Iâm not particularly eager to listen to nonsense. If you think you can shoot, go ahead and shoot.â Gina said calmly.
Ivan was puzzled, not entirely understanding Ginaâs words. What did she mean by âif you think you can shoot, then go ahead and shootâ? Ivan felt underestimated by Gina. He believed she was mocking him, implying that he wouldnât shoot.
âAlright. Gina Miller. Ivan gritted his teeth. âYou said it yourself. When my bullet hits you, thereâll be no turning back. Prepare to die. He was determined to execute Gina on his return.
Just as Ivan was about to pull the trigger, he suddenly felt a slight prick on his neck, as if an insect had bitten him. Instinctively, he touched his neck to see what had happened. But to his horror, he found himself unable to move. It was as if his entire body had lost sensation and control, except for his consciousness. He felt paralyzed, unable to command his actions. Ivanâs eyes widened in terror as he stood helplessly frozen in place.
As Gina calmly approached him, Ivan watched in astonishment. During their conversation just now, Gina had subtly captured his attention and then swiftly shot a threadlike blade hidden in her fingertips, striking a crucial point on Ivanâs neck. Ivan found himself completely immobilized. The threadlike blade was thin and long, almost invisible even to someone with excellent eyesight. Ivan had no idea it could also be used as a hidden weapon.
Gina walked up to Ivan and took the gun from his hand, pressing it against his forehead.
