Chapter 342
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 342
Ben snorted. âDisgusting? Dr. Genevieveâs capsule is anything but disgusting? So what if it contains ashes? If Dr. Genevieve can use them as a medicinal herb, then itâs effective.â
âRidiculous! How can ashes be of any use? Are you trying to deceive me? Is it Uxuley?â
Ben chuckled and asked, âMy naive Isabella, do you think thereâs a big difference between Uxuley and the ashes? Arenât they both just human remains?â
Isabella broke down, her stomach churning. âGet out, just get out! You liar!â she screamed.
Gina demanded, âStop tarnishing Genevieveâs reputation. Thereâs no way she developed this capsule. And where did those ashes come from?â
Ben responded, âCurious, Miss Miller? Then investigate yourself. If youâre hoping to get any information from me, forget it. I wonât say a word, and Iâm not meeting with you.â
Gina insisted, âI know youâre at home.â
âWonât be for long! Miss Miller, I donât understand why youâre meddling. Havenât you heard the saying, âCutting off someoneâs livelihood is like killing their parents? I advise you to stay out of it.â With that, Ben hung up the phone without hesitation.
Gina asked Isabella, âDo you know which room is your uncleâs?â
Isabella nodded and led Gina to Benâs room. The door was unlocked, and the room was empty. Gina then searched other rooms but still couldnât find Ben after looking around.
Benâs house seems to have a hidden passage, and he has already left. Gina furrowed her brow and called Michael. âLock down all airports and stations in Oriata City. Find a person named Ben Presley and intercept him. Donât let him escape,â she ordered.
âUnderstood!â Michael acknowledged, taking charge.
Impressed by Ginaâs assertiveness, Isabella said, âMiss Miller⦠you were so commanding just now, so powerful.â
Gina smiled dismissively and said, âMiss Presley, Iâm sorry to bother you with bringing me here. Iâm leaving now. Shall I send you home?â
Isabella happily agreed and said, âSure, of course.â
After dropping Isabella off at her home, Gina said, âMiss Presley, the main ingredient in the capsule you took typically wouldnât cause significant harm to the body. However, if you find yourself unable to accept it psychologically and experience psychogenic vomiting at the thought of it, my suggestion is to see a psychologist.â
âOkay, sure.â Isabella nodded, feeling emotional again about the capsule.
âIâll take my leave now,â Gina said politely.
âGoodbye.â Isabella waved.
Gina sped off down the road. Along the way, she received a call from the police station. âMiss Miller, the man who damaged your car has mental issues. He got into the event with a ticket he found and was having an episode when your car was scratched. The man has no family or savings and used to be homeless. He dressed up that day because he found a suit. So,

itâs unlikely we can count on him for compensation.â
âOkay, I understand,â Gina said before hanging up the phone.

Sheâd make Colin Barnes pay for this compensation. The found ticket? It was probably Colin who had deliberately let that. man find it. Colin wanted her to take the blame for it. That wasnât going to happen.
âBrother! What kept you busy today? Itâs late, did you have a drink? You seem to be in a good mood today?â Elaine Barnes asked.
Colin chuckled. âIâm in a pretty good mood because Iâve cost Gina at least 200 million dollars.â
However, Colin felt they were still lacking compared to Ginaâs substantial financial resources. But making Gina take a loss was a safe bet for him.
âYouâre amazing! By the way, Iâm heading back to Mosnioca tomorrow,â Elaine said.
Colin asked, âWhatâs up? Do you have something to do there?â
âYeah, Princess Lisa of Mosniocaâs royal family is selecting a husband. You know how hard Iâve worked to get into her circle. Choosing a husband will involve a three-day banquet, a great social opportunity. I will maximize this rare chance to expand my network,â Elaine said.
Colin affectionately patted Elaine on the head and said, âMy dear sister, you have ambition.â
âOf course, brother. Please donât underestimate me. Iâm not just a freeloader who shops and collects diamonds!â Elaine said.
âWho said youâre a freeloader? Anyone who dares say that, Iâll shut them out.â Colinâs face darkened.
âNo one. If anyone dares to say, I would have already shut it out. I donât need you to do it for me; only I can say that about myself!â Elaine said proudly.
âWill you come back after the banquet ends?â Colin asked.
âOf course, Iâll come back. Weâve agreed, havenât we, brother? Weâre going to build our empire back home. The industries abroad were conquered by Mom and Dad when they were young. I wonât be satisfied until weâve made our mark,â Elaine said.
Colin smiled and said, âI believe weâll achieve it soon. Thereâs a massive commercial empire waiting for us in our homeland. All we need to do is seize everything Gabriel and Gina own.â
Elaine chuckled. âYouâre right, brother!â

At the harbor, Ben was surprised that Gina had such immense capability. She had managed to seal off all the stations and airports in Oriata City, deploying people to wait for his appearance. Luckily, he had been cautious and left the airport before Ginaâs people could find him. He then contacted the smugglers to prepare for his escape. Ever since he started his illicit business, he had anticipated the need to leave the country eventually, having already transferred his assets abroad. He knew life abroad would be comfortable, but he might never see his son again, Zach Presley, who was currently in Norwood Prison.
The smuggler discovered that Ben hadnât boarded the ferry yet and was muttering to himself. Growing impatient, he urged, âWhat are you mumbling about? The ferry is about to depart. If you donât get on now, youâll be staying here. If youâre

leaving, decide and be stubborn about it.â

The smuggler scolded Ben harshly for his dawdling, leaving him bitter. He reluctantly boarded the ferry and found himself confined to the lowest level, surrounded by others attempting to cross illegally. Unwilling to engage with the diverse group around him, he retreated to a corner, leaning against the wall. Tired and disinterested in the crude company, he decided to rest for a while.
