Chapter 35
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 35
Gina didnât know why. She didnât care either. She remembered that the woman was arrogant and probably hurt Olivia quite badly. Gina found it amusing. Evildoers would indeed make their match.
Ella demanded hysterically. âYou must apologize to Olivia and compensate her.
âTell that to the one who beat her up, Gina replied.
Ella already guessed Jasmine was the daughter of the real state tycoon. They couldnât afford to provoke the Bush family, so demanding justice from them wasnât an option. âOlivia ended up like this because of you. You canât leave without making things right, Ella shouted to Gina
âOh: What do you want me to do?â Gina smirked. She was curious how low they could go.
âOlivia was going to design the next series of Miller Jewels. Because of you, her right hand is injured and she canât do it anymore. You must draw the new designs and credit them to Olivia, Ella declared.
Oliviaâs eyes lit up. She lowered her head to conceal her smugness.
How ridiculous. Gina snickered. âDream on.â
Ella was infuriated. âIf you donât, Iâll give your whereabouts to Miss Bush. She wonât let you off. I canât deal with you but her family can.â
Gina dismissed her threat. âTry it.â The Bush family was nothing. Besides, Jasmine provoked her first.
Seeing Ginaâs indifferent demeanor, the veins on Ellaâs neck bulged. Her fists were clenched.
Gina looked at Noah impatiently. âMove. Or do you want to end up in the hospital?â
Noah clenched his jaw. He thought of James and Liam and was afraid. Still, he shouted, âIf you lay a hand on me, Iâll call the police.â
Ella didnât want to blow up the matter as Olivia still had to study here. She didnât want others to look down on Olivia. Ella pushed Noah away and stood before Gina, thinking Gina wouldnât hurt her. âYou ingrate. B i c h. Hit me if you dare. Let everyone see your true colors.â
Gina rolled her eyes. âSeriously, if you have time, go for a checkupâ¦â She paused before continuing, âEspecially your eyesight.â How could Ella not see Olivia for who she was?
Ella was enraged. She thought Gina was cursing her. She reached out to strike Gina.
Gina caught her wrist.
Unable to break free, Ella shouted, âLet go.â
When Gina was in the hospital, she was weak and not on guard against her supposed family, and was slapped by Ella. Now theyâve cut ties, Ella was a stranger in her eyes.
Ella tried to kick Gina but Gina dodged. Noah was at a loss. He didnât want to land himself in the hospital. All he could do was bluster. âGina, are you insane? Let Mom go.â
Ginaâs face darkened. She flung Ella away. Ella grabbed the ashtray from the coffee table, ready to smash it on Gina.

Olivia silently enjoyed the spectacle while Noah glared at Gina.
âIâm going to kill you, b i t c h,â Ella yelled.
Suddenly, a loud smack sounded.
Gina had slapped Ella. Ella was stunned. Her check felt like it was on fire.
Olivia was shocked. Still, she continued acting. âGina⦠You hit Mom?â
Noah was dumbfounded but relieved he hadnât done anything to Gina. If Gina dared to hit their mother, she wouldnât take mercy on him.
The ashtray fell to the ground. Ella looked at Gina in shock. She covered her face and muttered, âYou actually hit me.â
Gina stated calmly, Tm paying you back for hitting me in the hospital.â
Ella pointed at Gina but couldnât speak.
Gina walked around Ella and left. Noah didnât stop her.
Jack was standing outside. He had heard the commotion and was worried they would destroy his office. He cleared his throat and lectured, âMiss Miller, youâre a family, after all. Why canât you talk things out with them?â
Gina frowned. She disliked being lectured by someone uninformed about the situation. With all the things the Miller family had done to her, did they have the right to ask her to be civil? She had already cut ties with them, yet they repeatedly provoked her. Gina retorted, âMr. Baker, donât you know you shouldnât tell others what to do if you werenât in their shoes?â
Jack was struck speechless. How dare she lecture him? If Gabriel didnât back her up, he would have dealt with her.

Before leaving, Gina commented, âMr. Baker, itâs wiser to avoid such favors.â Gina was referring to Jack tricking her so sheâd meet the Miller family.
Jack watched Ginaâs departing figure grimly, snorting coldly.
Inside the office, Ella sat on the floor, looking a little crazy, muttering repeatedly, âShe actually hit me.â
âMom, calm down.â Noah tried to help Ella up.
