Chapter 38
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 38
âEveryone, quiet down.â Peter waved his hand, gesturing for everyone to be quiet.
But some people still grumbled, âWho is this ignorant woman? Coming here to cause trouble, isnât she afraid of ruining her fortune?â
Gina smiled indifferently. If the fortune-tellers were so efficacious, everyone could be successful.
She didnât believe in fate, only in herself.
Gina casually remarked, âYouâre all rushing to give him money, just to make his mansion bigger in the wealthy district.â
As soon as she said this, everyone fell silent. Someone asked, âMr. Lennon, didnât you say that most of the income is used for church operations and renovations?â
âOf course, only a portion is left for myself. Donât believe her,â Peter hastily explained.
Everyone believed Peter.
Peter began to feel anxious and thought, âDid she actually know something?â
He remained calm and said, âMiss, please donât cause trouble. Letâs discuss any issues privately.â
Gina knew he was scared.
Gina replied with a faint smile, âSure,â
Peter led Gina to a room, his face immediately darkening.
âWhat do you want? If youâre here to cause trouble intentionally, donât dream. I know many wealthy and influential people. With just one phone call, I can have them deal with you. Watch your words,â Peter said aggressively.
Gina remained unfazed and said, âKnow many wealthy people? Like Olivia from the Miller family?â
Peter snorted, âYou know. Thatâs enough.â
But Peter thought, âWait, how did she know all this?â
He felt uneasy and asked, âWho are you?â
âWho am I? You probably donât remember because you have done too many shameful things. But because of your âdisasterâ comment, Iâve suffered a lot of ridicule and humiliation. So, how should we settle this score?â Ginaâs clear eyes narrowed dangerously as she said.
Peter thought, âDisaster, the Miller family⦠She is Gina.
Peter quickly regained his composure but showed some disdain, saying, âSo youâre the neglected daughter of the Miller family. Youâre just resentful, wanting to settle scores with me, right? What can you do to me? Huh? Dare to hit me?â
Peter, being older, started to rely on his age. âTry hitting me, and Iâll make you bankrupt with one phone call,â he said.
âThat depends on whether you have the ability,â Gina replied casually.

Peter sneered, âI advise you not to overestimate yourself.â
Gina didnât bother with his nonsense. She took out a ledger from her canvas bag and said, âThis is evidence of your embezzling renovation fees from Vaprebara Church over the years. And also, you advise others on morality while frequenting questionable places, as well as accepting money for favors and speaking one way to some and another to others.
Peter widened his eyes and found it incredulous. He s n a t e d the ledger from Ginaâs hands and grew increasingly anxious as he read, realizing the seriousness of his situation. âWhere did you get these things?â he asked.
âDo I need to report to you how I got them?â Ginaâs expression turned cold, and in an instant, Peter felt intense pressure
from her.
Peter gritted his teeth, feeling nervous. He thought about tearing up the ledger.
Gina sneered. I have a backup.â
Being seen through by her made Peter feel embarrassed. He thought, âShe has some skills. I couldnât confront her directly!
âWhat do you want? Money? How much money will it take for you to mind your own business?â Peter asked.
If Gina exposed all his secrets, he wouldnât be able to continue his livelihood as a fortune teller, not to mention the damage to his reputation and status.
âI donât need your dirty money, Gina sneered.
Besides, what she least lacked was money.
Then what do you want?â Peter grew impatient.
âI want you to expose how Olivia bribed you and how you manipulated things in front of Ella,â Gina said casually.
âSo, it was a family dispute that brought her to me, Peter thought.
But Peter didnât want to get involved. If he exposed Olivia, it would also expose him as a fraud.
But if he didnât go, Gina definitely wouldnât let it go. Grinding his teeth, Peter said, âI can expose Olivia, but you have to guarantee that I can walk away unscathed. Let your family deal with the commotion, but donât involve me.â
Gina smiled contemptuously and said, âAre you negotiating with me? Do you have the qualifications to negotiate with me?â
Ginaâs gaze became as sharp as a blade.
âSheâs too arrogant, Peter thought.
âWhat do you mean? Even if I do as you say, youâll still expose my private affairs, wonât you?â Peter asked through gritted
teeth
âYes,â Gina replied nonchalantly.
âWhy?â Peter didnât understand.
âBecause I donât like you, a said with a half-smile.
Peter was p i s s e d off and pointed at Gin, wanting to curs
e, but couldnât find the words.
Tue, 21 May MG.

âOr, you can go explain to your followers now, apologize, and repent. Then you wonât have to worry,â Gina kindly suggested.
Peter naturally wouldnât do something that would ruin his reputation.
Taking back the ledger, Gina said, âThen let me help you.â
After speaking. Gina walked out of the room. Peter stared at the canvas bag Gina carried, not knowing what was inside, but he was certain Gina was going to publicly expose him now, and he couldnât sit still.
âStop, stop right there.â Peter hurriedly followed, extending his hand in a desperate attempt to grab Ginaâs hair, but Gina reacted quickly, dodging his hand.
Peter resorted to acting shamelessly, falling to the ground and not getting up. He grinned maliciously at Gina, âYouâre
finished.â
He started acting and shouted. âOuch, my head, it hurts so muchâ¦â
Peter heard footsteps approaching and shouted for help, Help, help. Sheâs attacking me.â
The footsteps drew nearer, and Peter became even more smug. There were surveillance cameras here. If they recorded Gina hitting him and with a witness, he could definitely make Gina pay a hefty price. That would be the cost of provoking him.
The footsteps paused beside him, and Peter immediately looked up and said, âKind man, please help meâ¦â
