Chapter 455
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 4 5 5
Late night at the Blue Vale Hospital, the door to the room housing the all-in-one medical examination machine quietly creaked open as someone snuck
In under the cover of darkness.
In the next second, all the lights in the room suddenly blazed on and the person in black was instantly exposed.
Panicking, the intruder turned around to flee, but a group of people lying in wait surrounded him, leaving him with no escape. In a flash, he felt a sharp p r k at his neck and after touching his neck, he realized someone had shot hirm with a tranquilizer. Though he quickly pulled it out, his body soon lost strength, and he collapsed to his knees, unable to move.
Ibrahim stepped forward with his footsteps soft but steady, removing the intruderâs mask before remarking, âYou must be one of Ginaâs men, right?â
Ibrahim knew Gina had saved Xander and would likely trace the trail back to Blue Vale Hospital. Anticipating this, he had been prepared. Ginaâs operative
was skilled, but luckily Ibrahimâs readiness paid off.
The man in black passed out without saying a word.
One of Ibrahimâs men asked, âWhat should we do with him?â
âHandle him like those goods,â Ibrahim replied without hesitation.
âBut shouldnât we interrogate him?â the subordinate asked with confusion.
Ibrahim clicked his tongue in irritation, âWhatâs the point? We know heâs Ginaâs man. Do you think weâll get anything useful from him? Or do you have some specific questions to ask? His purpose of sneaking here is obvious, as heâs after our machine.
âAre you an idiot? Why are you doing such a time wasting thing?â
The subordinate felt wronged and explained, âThatâs not what I meant, I thought if we got him to admit Gina sent him, we could use it against her. We could tell the media that Gina, the head of Prover Hospital, tried to steal our technology or destroy the all-in-one medical examination machine. This could ruin her reputation and her hospital will be affected.â
It was a decent idea, but Ibrahim dismissed it. âDo you think Gina is merely a business rival?â
The subordinate was puzzled and asked, âIsnât she?â
She was, but it was more than that.
Therefore, Ibrahim had no interest in such a petty tactic.
Ibrahim instructed, âJust do as I said. Right now, itâs a matter of life and death between us and Gina.â
âUnderstood,â the subordinate replied:
The next day, Gina was busy at her hospital
equipment.
Her project on the artificial seed palace had reached the next stage, requiring a new batch of equi
She was now making a list and once it was done, sheâd have Dylan handle the
Ichases.
Her phone rang, showing that it was a call from Michael.
âWhatâs up?â Gina asked while continued writing
Michaelâs voice was heavy, informing. âGiha, weâve lost contact with Keith after his mission failed.â
Upon hearing. Gina paused and dropped her pen.
She had tasked Michael with sending someone to investigate Blue Vale Hospitalâs all-in-one medical examination machine. Keith was skilled and cautious but had still been captured, showing the other party was well-prepared.
Taking a deep breath, Gina said, âWe must rescue him.â
understand,â Michael replied.
âNo. Iâll go myself.â Gina suddenly decided.

Michael knew how much Gina valued her team as she never forced them to risk their life in completing tasks and wouldnât sit by when they were in danger.
âOkay, weâll keep looking for Keith. Iâll update you immediately if we find anything,â Michael said.
âAlright.â
After hanging up the phone, Gina struggled to calm her nerves, not wanting Keith to be harmed.
A knock on the door brought her back to the present when she turned to see Dylan. She completed the final list of equipment before handing it to him,
instructing, âGet these as soon as possible.â
âWill do,â Dylan replied, glancing at the list before nodding.
At a downtown bar, Ethan sat alone at the bar, lost in thought.
Ibrahim had shown him a quick way to make money, which he had started using.
Ethan had mortgaged his properties to take out loans, using the money to lend to athers at high interest rates. It didnât sit right with him, but he was desperate for cash and too proud to ask his parents for help.
With Gabriel blocking funds from Neil, Ethan felt trapped and frustrated, wanting to find a bar to have a drink
He didnât need to personally handle the loan sharking business as Ibrahim had already taken over that burden.
Ibrahim said to him, âMr. Jackson, isnât this a special situation? Letâs handle it differently for now. I know you donât want to be involved in the loan shark business, but how about we stop after a while? Just temporarily stock up on funds for any unexpected needs. Once the all-in-one medical examination machine starts mass production and we make more money, we wonât need to do this illegal business anymore. Trust me, leave everything to me, and
nothing will go wrongâ
It was not that Ethan didnât trust ibrahim. Although Ibrahim was a doctor, Ethan felt that sometimes he was more like a businessman. It seemed like Ibrahim was usually busy with business deals and rarely treated patients.
Ethan still remembered that Ibrahim was originally brought in by Harry to treat Neilâs heart condition, but it didnât work out.
Ethan took a sip of his drink when suddenly someone patted his shoulder. Being initially immersed in his thoughts, Ethan was startled. He was about to tum around and curse when he saw Shaneâs grinning face.
âMr. Jackson, what are you doing here? I donât think Iâve seen you around here before. What a coincidence!â
Shane tried to get close to him.
Ethan didnât recognize Shane and asked, âWho are you?â
Shane was a little surprised. âMr. Jackson, you donât know me? Alright, let me introduce myself. My dad is Edward Benderson

Mentioning Edward jogged Ethanâs memory and he started to recall that Edward was a shareholder of the Jackson Group However, Ethan thought that this had nothing to do with him since he wasnât currently involved with the Jackson Group, and its shareholders were even less relevant to him.
Ethan didnât feel like talking to Shane and he put down his glass, deciding to leave when Shane chased after him. âNo, Mr. Jackson, why are you so cold? want to be friends with you.
Ethan snorted coldly. âIâm very busy and donât have time to make hiends.â
âHey, M. Jackson, donât say that. The more friends you have, the more opportunities you have.â
