Chapter 52
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 52
The atmosphere inside the car fell into a strange silence. Ella asked with a serious expression, âOlivia, did Miss Bush really break your hand that day?â
Oliviaâs heart sank. She thought, Sure enough, under Ginaâs instigation, Mom still has suspicions about me.
She teared up within seconds, looking pitifully at Ella, and said, âMom, so you believe Gina and not me? Thatâs fine. Sheâs your daughterâ¦
Ella didnât say the last sentence, but Olivia could guess its meaning. She was ultimately an outsider.
If it were before. Ella would definitely reassure Olivia, But ever since learning that Olivia would lie, Ella found it hard to contfort her.
Ella even felt that Oliviaâs self-pitying words were quite annoying. The Miller family hadnât treated her unwell over the
years.
Ella thought. Why is she so ungrateful?â
âI was just asking, nothing else.â Ellaâs response was particularly perfunctory. She was too preoccupied with her worries to
comfort Olivia.
And it made Olivia nervous. She was afraid of losing Ellaâs favor. The growing sense of crisis about Ginaâs return to the Miller family weighed heavily on Olivia.
She quickly wiped away her tears and began to fabricate a story about Gina. âMom, maybe Gina didnât go to Prover Hospital to visit Neil. After all, she didnât give us a direct answer, did she? Maybe she just wanted to see us disappointed.â
Ella thought Oliviaâs words made sense.
âMaybe she went to visit some middle-aged board member at Trowell University, Olivia said.
âWhat?â Ella was surprised.
Olivia answered, âWhen Gina was bullied by her roommate Lily, a board member helped her out. It was his idea that led to Lilyâs expulsion, although the rumor was that the board member saw Lily trying to hit Gina with a brick, but Gina wasnât injured. I found this incident a bit strange. Why would the man be so eager to help Gina?â
Oliviaâs words were full of meaning.
Olivia added, âAnd most of the board members at Trowell University are men over 50â¦
âShameless.â Ella was once again led astray by Olivia and angrily cursed Gina.
Olivia breathed a sigh of relief. She had made Ella hate Gina again.
While waiting for Cabriel at the entrance, Olivia received a call from an unknown number. She didnât answer it and hung up, then the same number sent her a message [Miss Miller, itâs Hazel. Can you take my call?]
Gina was surprised.
Gina remembered Hazel. Last time, at Neilâs birthday party, Hazel wanted to cause trouble for her and even broke one of ber bottles of potion.
Gina had been busy lately and had almost forgotten about Hazel.

The phone rang again, and Gina answered it.
âMiss Miller, I have prepared the 4 million dollars. Can we meet? Iâll give you the money in person and apologize to you sincerely,â Hazel said with sincerity and respect.
Gina didnât beat around the bush and asked directly, âWhere?â
Hazel sent the location of a high-end bar.
She said, âMiss Miller, Iâll be waiting for you in the private room.â
Gina didnât reply. At this moment, Gabriel came out.
Iâm not going home. I have an appointment.â
âAn appointment?â Gabriel instantly became nervous, but he was used to keeping his emotions in check. He was calm as he asked. âWith whom?â
He wondered who had beaten him to it and occupied Ginaâs free time.
âA woman. She damaged my things and wants to compensate me. Iâm going to collect the money,â Gina said.
Gabriel relaxed a bit, but he still cared about Gina.
Tll take you there,â Gabriel said.
âOkay,â Ginna agreed.
They arrived at the bar.
âWait in the car for me. I should be out soon.â Gina said.
Gabriel watched Gina disappear before reluctantly turning away.
Gabriel thought to himself, Iâm pursuing Gina, but I havenât bought her any gifts yet. But Iâm not sure what Gina would like. He then asked David, âWhat kind of gifts do women usually like?â
David was surprised. Heâd never been in love, so he didnât know the answer.
But if David didnât give advice, it would make him seem like a useless assistant. But if the gifts he suggested didnât impress Gina, Gabriel would think he had given bad advice.
David was in a dilemma.
But David still racked his brains. After a while, he said, âMr. Jackson, Iâve noticed that Miss Miller always carries the same canvas bag. How about buying her a few handbags?â
Cabriel pondered for a moment and thought it worked.
âBut Miss Miller might not like handbags David gave Gabriel a preemptive warning.
Cabriel didnât mind. If Gina didnât like them, he would continue to figure out her preferences and buy the things she liked. Money was not an issue.
Gina arrived at the private room where Hazel was
Hazel opened the door for Gina, And she was the only one inside.

Chapter 52
Last time, Hazel had been kicked out of the jackson family by Neil and had caused a rift between the Jackson Group and the Baker Group because of her provocation against Gina. After returning home, she had been severely beaten by her family and was unable to get out of bed due to the pain.
During the days when she had no contact with Gina, Hazel had been recuperating. Until today, there were still bruises on
her face.
Hazel found it strange that Gina hadnât chased her for the money.
It was 4 million dollars, not a small amount.
Hazel thought that a country bumpkin like Gina was supposed to be eager for money.
âMiss Miller.â Hazel greeted politely.
Whether her warmth was false or due to fear of Gina, she showed more respect to Gina. Gina didnât beat around the bush and said, âThe money?â
Hazel lowered her eyes, concealing disdain in her eyes. It seemed she had overthought it. âGina is indeed eager to get her hands on the money, she thought.
Hazelâs eyes shifted as she said, âMiss Miller, Iâm sorry, but I just realized that I brought the wrong bank card.â
