Chapter 56
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 56
asmine was a little nervous. Without thinking, she ran forward, nearly getting hit by the car.
she was shocked. She quickly took a few steps back. Then, Gabriel got out of the car with a displeased expression.
The instant the car door closed, Jasmine seemed to see a woman in the car.
She thought. Who is she?
asmine didnât have time to dwell on this matter. She looked up at the gloomy Gabriel and said, âGabriel, Iâm fine. Donât vorry about meâ
Gabriel asked in return with a cold expression, âEyes not on the road, huh?â
asmine felt awkward. Iâm sorry, Gabriel, she said.
By the way, is Neil alright?â she continued. âI really didnât mean it. I didnât expect that the nourishing tonic would cause problems. I just wanted Neil to recover as soon as possible.â
âHeâs out of danger, Gabriel said indifferently.
âAlso, donât address me so affectionately,â Gabriel added.
Jasmine was left speechless. She felt like her heart was about to be broken by Gabrielâs coldness. She thought, Gabriel isnât much older than me. Plus, heâs young and handsome, so itâs only natural that I address him affectionately.
Jasmine said aggrievedly. âBut Iâve already gotten used to that. Gabriel, can you take me to the hospital to visit Neil someday? My family and I are very worried about Neil. Prover Hospital has an unreasonable rule that outsiders canât just enter, which is why I havenât gone to visit Neil
She cursed inwardly, âI donât know what kind of rubbish rule this lousy hospital has set. Itâs just a hospital, so why do they act all high and mighty?â
Gina sat in the car, playing the role of a bystander.
Hearing Jasmine complaining about Prover Hospital, she-smiled indifferently. The reason Prover Hospital had such a rule was that people who were admitted to the hospital for either treatment or hospitalization were all important figures, inevitably attracting people who wanted to take the opportunity to curry favor with them.
Hospitals were meant for treatment and recuperation. The coming and going of too many people who were not directly associated with the hospitalâs activities or patients would disrupt the hospitalâs order. This was why the rule was set at the beginning of the hospitalâs construction.
âI donât have time, Gabriel said coldly, rejecting without hesitation.
Jasmine felt a little awkward. âThen Iâll wait until Neil is discharged from the hospital before visiting,â she said.
Gabriel did not reply. His lack of response conveyed an obvious message. That message was Jasmine should leave now. Jasmine was unwilling to leave just like that. She thought, âI still donât know who the woman in the car is
She bit the bullet and asked, âGabriel, whoâs the person sitting in your car? Youâve mentioned before that you donât like having outsiders in your car, so is she à relative?â
Previously, she visited the Jackson familyâs home and wanted Gabriel to send her home, but Gabriel refused, saying that he did not like having outsiders in his car.

The Rolls Royceâs car door opened, and Jasmineâs attention immediately shifted to the door, staring at it without blinking. When she saw Gina, she clenched her fists hard.
She thought. Why? Itâs this b i t c h again!â
âSheâs not an outsider. Gabriel said.
His voice snapped Jasmine back to reality. She was stunned, thinking, âWhat did Gabriel mean?â
She seemed to be consoling herself as she said, âI know her. Thatâs Miss Miller. Sheâs Gina, the sister of Ethanâs fiancée. Indeed, she is not considered an outsider.â
âShe is not considered an outsider practically came out of Jasmineâs mouth through gritted teeth.
She thought, âIf it werenât for Gabriel here, thereâs no way I could have addressed this country bumpkin as Miss Miller.
What Gabriel meant was obviously not what Jasmine interpreted. It was just that Gabriel couldnât be bothered to explain so much to Jasmine, who was the real outsider.
âI heard that Ethanâs fiancee was supposed to be Gina initially, though, Jasmine said. âBut Ethan seems only to have eyes for Olivia Miss Miller doesnât seem to be pleased about this and wants to compete with her sister for Ethan, right?â
Jasmine spoke as if Gina was a homewrecker who wanted to steal her own sisterâs man, and she appeared worried that Gabriel would not know about this, so she blurted out all at once.
Another angelic bitc h, Gina thought.
Feeling a little helpless, she said, âI also heard that you dragged Olivia into the ladiesâ room and beat her till her right hand fracturedâ
Jasmineâs face turned pale, not expecting that Gina would bring up this accident in front of Gabriel. She thought, âBitc h! By stirring up trouble like this, sheâll make Gabriel think Iâm a terrible girl!â
âI didnât,â Jasmine explained anxiously. âI didnât break her right hand.â
âBut I heard Olivia say that with my own ears, Gina insisted.
âShe lied!â Jasmine said angrily. âHow can you only listen to her side of the story?â
âOh?â Gina said, elongating the pronunciation of the word meaningfully. Then, she continued, âSo, Miss Bush, you also know that a one-sided story canât be trusted. From whom did you hear that I wanted to s n t Ethan away then? If a claim isnât backed by evidence, thatâs fabricating stories. Miss Bush, why did you fabricate a story about me?â
âIâ¦â Jasmineâs eyes widened. She felt like she couldnât wrap her head around things just now and was led by Gina into saying things she didnât intend to say. She was both angry and anxious.
âApologize to Gina, Gabriel said to Jasmine with a cold expression.
Hearing Gabriel address Gina so intimately, Jasmine felt like the world was coming to an end.
Her eyes were teary as she looked at Gabriel. She tried to use her pitiful appearance to exchange for a trace of pity from
Gabriel.
But all she saw in Gabrielâs icy gaze was aloofness and indifference.
She thought, Iâve long known Gabriel. Why did this bit h Gina come out on top?
Jasmine apologized to Gina unwillingly, saying, âIâm sorry, Miss Miller. Those words are just hearsay. I shouldnât have said those words to fabricate a story about you. Please forgive me and donât hold it against me.â

Gina replied indifferently, âOkay.â
She then glanced at Gabriel and said, âDo you two have anything else to discuss? Shall I excuse myself?â
Without waiting for Jasmine to speak, Gabriel said firmly, âThereâs nothing to talk about.â
Then, he said to Jasmine, âYou can leave.â
Jasmine thought. âGabriel actually chased me out for this b i c hâs sake!
She was heartbroken and couldnât say a word. She ran back to the Ferrari in tears.
A short while later, the Ferrari zoomed off.
Gina glanced over and said to Gabriel. âShe seems to be crying quite sadly
Gabriel replied. âHuh?â
He did not know why Ginaâs focus was on this.
âDo you want to consider comforting Jasmine, Gabriel?â Gina said, making the unusual choice of speaking in a teasing and
affectionate tone.
Gabriel was stunned. âYou call me affectionately?â he said.
Gina suddenly realized that calling Gabriel that way seemed too intimate. She cleared her throat, turned away from Gabrielâs intense gaze, and said, âWhatâs wrong? Can I not call you that way?â
âNot at all,â Gabriel said. âI actually like it. Can you say it a few more times, Gina?â
C i n a suddenly felt that Gabriel was being unexpectedly bold.
