Chapter 61
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 61
âI will,â Gabriel said firmly.
He thought. Iâll definitely expose the mastermind and teach that person a severe lesson.
Gina stopped dwelling on the possibility that Emily had been harmed and said, âTâve eaten. Iâll head back now.â
âIâll give you a ride,â Gabriel said.
He felt reluctant to part with Gina. It was blissful to be able to spend another minute with her.
This time. Gina did not ask Gabriel to drop her off at the bus stop near the apartment.
Instead, she asked him to drop her off at the apartment building.
âWhich building do you live in?â he asked.
Gina pointed at the building with better lighting and said, âOver there. The sixth floor.â
âAlright,â Gabriel said. âGot it. Goodbye.â
âSee you,â Gina said. With that said, she turned around and left.
Back in the car, Gabrielâs deep eyes glinted with a hint of amusement.
David was somewhat puzzled. âMr. Jackson, why didnât you try asking if you could go up and spend some time there for a while?â he said.
Gabriel gave David a cold glance and said, âYou donât understand,â
He thought, Tm very pleased with this progress. Everything has to be done step by step. This is because I know that Gina is a person who takes time to become comfortable with others. I canât be too hasty!
David was left speechless.
He thought, I donât understand. How can someone like me, who has never been in a relationship before, understand?â
In the past, he thought that at least Gabriel was a lonely young man like him. He did not expect Gabriel to suddenly have someone to pursue. He had a feeling that Gabriel would soon get into a relationship.
David muttered sofily, âWhen can I also be able to get out of being single?â
Gabriel glanced at David and said, âYouâre always just going back and forth between home and the office every day, never going out during your free time, and you never participate in departmental team-building activities. Why? Waiting for love to come knocking on your door, huh?â
After being criticized, David chuckled in embarrassment. âActually, being single is not bad,â he said. âItâs pretty good.â
Gabriel was left speechless.
The next day, Gina went to the detention center early in the morning to see Lily.
Through the glass window, Gina say the haggard and thin Lily during the daytime.
The days without freedom were tough.

Chapter 61
Lily sneered at Gina and said, âComing to laugh at me so soon? You must be very happy to see me in such a sorry state, right? Gina, you donât have to hold back. You must be so darn smug, right?â
If it werenât for the barrier of the glass window, Lily would have wanted to rush up and scratch Gina. The deep hatred in her eyes could not be hidden.
Ginaâs expression was cold as she said indifferently, âIâm not that free. Iâm here to ask you something.â
âDonât even think about getting anything out of me,â Lily said. âI take responsibility for my actions. Everything was done by me alone. It has nothing to do with anyone else.â
Gina knew very well that it was Olivia who had instructed Lily to do those things, but Lily refused to admit it and point out Oliviaâs involvement. Without evidence, it would be difficult for Olivia to receive the punishment she deserved.
Gina smiled mockingly and said. âYou and Olivia are birds of a feather. Are you two close? I donât think so. Isnât she just treating you as her lackey?â
Lilyâs face turned pale. âStop trying to drive a wedge between us,â she said. âIâm good friends with Olivia!â
âGood friend?â Gina said as she sneered. âIâm afraid that in her friendship criteria, youâre not considered a friend at all, right? You should know Hazel. Sheâs Oliviaâs good friend and bestie, isnât she?â
She thought, âNot anymore, though. Just a pair of fake friends at the end of the day, yet Olivia often boasts about being a people person. Thatâs amusing.
Lily began to avoid Ginaâs gaze. She thought, âOf course, I know Hazel. The three of us have even gone shopping at the mall together, but every time, Iâm the one trailing behind, helping to carry the bags.â
Lily flew into a rage out of humiliation, saying, âSo? You came here just to mock me?â
Gina asked coldly in return, âI just want to know about this. During the few days you were here, did Olivia come to see you?â
âWhat does it have to do with you?â Lily said, trying her best to suppress her emotions.
âPlease come to your senses, C i n a said. âYouâre just a lackey in her eyes. Youâre a pawn that has been discarded.â
âShut up.â Lily said. âYou know nothing. Olivia helped me during my toughest times. Sheâs my friend. Who do you think you. are? Intentionally coming here to break our friendship, Iâm telling you. Itâs not going to work. Hahaâ¦
Lily seemed to have lost control of her emotions.
âShe helped you before, so youâre willing to take the fall for her?â Gina continued to ask.
Lily was stunned for a moment. When she recovered from her daze, she looked at Gina with a sneer and said, âYouâre here to trick me into revealing things, right? You want to use me to harm Olivia. Haha. I wonât let you succeed!â
With that said, Lily immediately stood up and left the visiting room.
Gina then left, feeling that this visit was somewhat fruitful after all.
She thought, âOlivia has helped Lily, so Lily is so determined to help her cover up her wrongdoing. Is it really just help? Is
there no other secret?â
C n a did not go home. Instead, she went to Prover Hospital.
She went directly to find Dylan.
âYou want to check Mrs. Emilyâs inpatient records?â Dylan said, feeling somewhat surprised. âSure.â

He added, âBut why are you looking into this?â
âMrs. Emily might have been murdered,â Gina said. âI want to investigate,
Dylan was shocked again. He had accidentally learned a big secret that no one knew, feeling inexplicably nervous.
However, he already knew quite a few big secrets. Many of them were even about Gina.
Dylan recalled how Gabriel affectionately called Gina when he bumped into Gabriel at the hospital yesterday.
He thought. Coupled with Gabrielâs hostile gaze when he looked at me, Iâm certain that they are not just friends. Could it be that they are an item now? But I havenât heard any rumors, have Iâ
I remember that you never meddled in other peopleâs business,â Dylan said,
This is not meddling in other peopleâs business, Gina said solemnly.
âSo, are you and Gabriel together?â Dylan said.
Dylanâs sudden change of topic stunned Gina.
âWhat are you thinking? Gina said. âNo, weâre not.â
âAh!â Dylan replied. âThen why do you still want to get involved in the Jackson familyâs affairs? The Jackson family⦠is also in a mess. Are you sure you want to get involved?â
âIn a mess?â Gina asked in puzzlement. âHow do you know?â
Dylan touched his ear and said, âIâve heard too many rumors.
âSuch as?â Gina asked.
âFor example, quite a few members of the Jackson family have their eyes on the position that Jackson Group is guarding.â Dylan said.
He did not know the details, but he could guess that the Jackson familyâs internal affairs were definitely not peaceful. With such a large family, it was inevitable that there would be a few greedy and discontented people who would cause trouble.
He thought, âWell, before getting to know Neil and Gabriel, Gina didnât care about the Jackson family
Dylan said, âI thought you were with Gabriel, so you wanted to investigate this matter for him.â
