Chapter 46

FORTY-FIVE

HIS INNOCENT BRIDE

As soon as I stepped on his floor my heart was beating as if I had run a marathon. But my eyes were awestruck for a moment as his floor had crystal grey tiles that were so clean that I could see my own reflection in that very clearly. Few plants were present in some corners while there was only one desk or I should say a small office where a mid-forty woman was standing while arranging some papers.

Upon my arrival she looked at me with a polite smile just like old people see at the children and then give them a candy.

I was wearing a mustard colord dress while my thick brown hairs were all settled at one side of my neck revealing my long slender neck. Suzi forced me to do the make-up with tint and a same colord gloss. So, I was looking presentable. She couldn’t misunderstand me with a child if we ignore my height which wasn’t so short too.

I gulped as I was now on my own as Imran left from the lift as soon as I stepped on his floor as if he had down his work now the rest of thing was one me. Whether I barge in his office or run backwards because my hands were a little cold thinking about all the negative scenarios in my mind.

“Can I help you?” She asked me politely as I smiled a little forming my words in my mind.

“I want to meet him…Farzan Shah.” I mumbled in a soft voice as she gave me a confused look.

“But do you have any appointment because I didn’t have it on schedule? I can’t let you meet him without any appointment.” She asked and I turned baffled for a second as I didn’t know I had to take appointment for meeting him. Slight sadness erupted in the depth of my heart as I came here after so gathering so much strength but now, I had to go back all in vain.

“Oh…okay.” I was about to turn when the double door at my side opened and revealed a man in his late twenties I guessed because he didn’t seem too old. His eyes fell on me as his face turned into a bright smile with his eyes shining brightly.

“Didn’t expect to see you here.” He clicked his tongue as he scanned me from top to bottom without any shame making me more uncomfortable around these two strangers.

“Do I know you?” I asked as the lady was also looking at both of us in a suspicious way.

“You don’t but I do. Ahmad Hashmi here.” He said as he raised his hand for a shake but I smiled back hesitantly without grabbing it.

“Aysham Zubair.” I introduced myself although I didn’t plan on doing that but that what manners say.

“Great to see you pumpkin. Hope we meet again which we do from now on I guess.” He said as he dropped his hand which he raised for a shake all in vain. With a slight node he left not before bestowing me with a deep glance. He wasn’t looking like a pervert but still there was something off about him.

But I scrunched my nose at the endearment he used as he must be referring me as a pumpkin because of my dress as I didn’t know why people use endearments like that for me.

But you do like butterfly.

My conscience had to meddle in my thoughts as she referred towards the endearment, he was using for me these days and I hadn’t hear that from him for days. I again looked at the lady which was his secretary most probably as I wanted her to let me go inside as I was relived and sad at the same time but I walked all the way here just to step back.

“Can I ask for what reference you came here? Maybe I can ask him if he wants to meet you or not?” She asked with a polite smile as if she had seen the disappointment in my eyes.

“You can?” I asked as I ignored the fact that my voice chirped at that time.

“Yes, I can get another scolding.” She mumbled the last sentence but I heard that.

“Will he scold you?” I asked as he should respect her at least as she looked older than him. Thinking of being older I didn’t even know his age too.

“No, it’s just a routine. Tell me the work for which you are here?” She asked glancing at the cake in my hand as I planned on giving to her afterwards.

“I wanted to meet him. I am from the mansion.” I said as I precisely didn’t use the word wife because I couldn’t even use the word slave also.

She shook her head as taking a deep breath she entered inside his office leaving me behind as if facing him was the most difficult thing. I waited for a while as she came outside and released a breath as if she was holding that for a while.

“You may go inside.” She informed and now I took the deep breath. It was all because of his glare which scared people off but at the same time his eyes were beautiful too.

FARZAN’S POV:

I tore my gaze from the file in front of me and then looked at her standing at the door. She was wearing a mustard color with her hairs looking perfect at one side giving me the perfect look of her swan neck and her pearl earrings which I could swear Suzi made her wear that just like she must have sent her here because she didn’t know what I wanted up till now but Suzi does. I should increase her salary.

A small smile appeared on its own at the corner of my lips when she stood there at the door contemplating whether to run from there or not.

“What are you doing here?” All the thoughts and strategies I was shaving at that time after meeting Ahmad Hashmi vanished from my mind as all I could see was the sunflower standing in front of me with all the shades of red appearing on her face. I desperately wanted to be the sun at that time so that all of her attention could be towards me but I could snatch that at that time too with my darkness which could barely attract sunflowers or even any other flower.

“I can go back.” She said as she was looking everywhere but as her one hand was on the handle of my office’s double door. I bet she could do that because she was waiting for the sign and the moment, she would get that she would be vanish before my sight in a mini second. And f**king didn’t want that.

I got up from my chair as I approached in a few strides making her breath to stop. Wrapping my large rough hand on hers grabbing the handle I pulled her inside close to me while I craned my neck to look at my secretary who had her eyes wide as saucers.

“You can go home now.” I said and before I could see her shocked expressions turning into a delighted one, I closed the door to focus all my attention towards the girl standing close to me while engulfing me in her addictive fragrance.

“You were planning to go back. Wait let me change that. Were you running back?” I asked as she pouted a little while glancing at me through her lowered eyelashes. She was looking beautiful with all the beautiful shades coming across her face.

“Are you angry at me?” She asked coming directly to the point as if she wanted to sort the things out in a minute and then run back towards the mansion in protection of my dad. Seriously they both spend too much time as all of her time should be mine.

Her question brought me back to senses as I was on cloud nine seeing her in my office for the first time that I completely forgot I was angry at her. Seriously, who forgets if he is angry or not? I did that and that showed this girl wasn’t good for my sanity but I was living darkness. Who cared about sanity here?

“I might be.” I said as I should sound angry but at that time smile wasn’t leaving my face. Only the box in her hand as I could see through the transparent lid that it was a red velvet cake, was separating me from her as behind her was the door so she couldn’t move behind anymore. I quirked an eyebrow at her as she lowered her gaze on the cake.

“Is this for me?” I was about to open the ribbon when she spatted my hand away making a deep line in between my eyebrows.

“First tell me why are you angry at me?” She asked and I suddenly remembered all the reasons why we were in that position but I should give her the credit for being sassy with me at that time as she glared at me with that cute frown of hers.

“Because you lied.”
