Chapter 26
Heartbreak Brings Mr. Right
âThe man we met at the restaurant last night-he didnât make things difficult for you, did he?â Domenic asked in a low, deep voice.
It turned out that he was calling to check on her.
His concern made Lindsey feel warm in her heart.
âActually, the president asked me to go to his office just now, presumably for this matter.
But donât worry.
Iâm a fighter.
Iâll be alright!â
âYou sound a little worried.
â
Lindsey didnât expect that Domenic would see right through her in an instant.
She smiled helplessly and admitted, âWell, Ismaelâs the dean of our department after all, and Iâm just an insignificant student.
â
âDonât worry,â Domenic said, his voice having a sense of magnetism to it.
âI believe that theyâll receive their deserved punishment.
â
Lindsey thought he was just comforting her, so she sighed.
âI hope so.
â Glancing at her watch, she said, âMr.
Walsh, Iâve got to get going.
Talk to you later, okay?â
After hanging up, Lindsey gathered her bearings and walked out of the dorm.
She headed to the top floor of the school administration building and soon found the presidentâs office according to the room number the counselor had given her on the phone.
Taking a deep breath, she pushed the door open.
As expected, in addition to the president, Ismael and Nina were also there.
Pretending to be calm, Lindsey walked up to the president and greeted him with a respectful smile.
âGood morning, Mr.
Prescott.
â
The president nodded to her gravely.
âLindsey, your classmate has reported that you not only fooled around with several male classmates at the same time but are also being kept by a rich man.
Mr.
Ballard said that he had confirmed this matter and repeatedly admonished you, but
not only have you disregarded his counsel but also fought and disrespected him.
Your behavior has seriously violated the rules of our school, and after discussing this matter with Mr.
Ballard, Iâve decided to have you expelled.
â
Lindsey clenched the hem of her blouse.
Looking at the complacent smiles on of the faces of Ismael and Nina, the grievance and anger in her heart reached its peak.
âMr.
Prescott, I didnât do any of those things.
Theyâre falsely accusing me because I found out that Nina and Mr.
Ballard are having an affair, and now, theyâre trying to kick me out of the school.
â
âLindsey Stewart!â Ismael leaped to his feet and pointed at her angrily.
âAs a dean, Iâve always been frank and fair to all its students.
Donât spout nonsense here!â
âMr.
Prescott, Lindsey has always been mean to me, and she likes to spread rumors.
See? In order to prove herself innocent, she even made up such a ridiculous lie to slander me and Mr.
Ballard!â Nina pursed her lips and her eyes turned slightly red, looking as though she had been greatly wronged.
âALL right, thatâs enough.
â The university president waved at Ismael and Nina to make them calm down.
Then he looked at Lindsey and said sternly, âThe school has investigated and Iâve made my decision.
Inform your parents about your punishment.
Leave as soon as you finish the dropout formalities.
â
It seemed that they had conspired against Lindsey before she even arrived.
Thus, no matter what she said, it was useless.
ALL the frustration and hurt sheâd bottled up over the past years suddenly bubbled to the surface.
Lindsey clenched her fists, fighting back the tears with all her might.
She couldnât let herself cry in front of these scumbags!
Just then, the door to the office was suddenly opened from the outside, and several well-dressed men strode in.
