Chapter 386
Heartbreak Brings Mr. Right
Selah gave a small nod.
Putting the recent events out of her mind, Lindsey shared her plan to start a business.
Selah was taken aback by Lindseyâs sudden ambition but found herself on board once Lindsey explained the corruption at Vitality Entertainment.
âLindsey, Iâve actually dreamed of running my own business five years ago.
But back then, something stopped me⦠Now, five years on, the opportunityâs come back around.
Iâve always said Iâd follow you anywhere.
Count me in on this business venture.
â
âThanks, Selah.
â They embraced, while Nicolas watched from a distance, his gaze on Selah, full of intensity yet controlled.
At eleven at night, Domenic sat in his car outside the bar, wondering about Lindseyâs whereabouts and whether sheâd left.
He thought to call her, but recalling how heâd upset her earlier, he stowed his phone back in his pocket.
With a soft sigh, he took hold of the wheel and drove off.
Arturo leaned against the entrance of the bar, silently lighting another cigarette.
This bar was the spot where he had hurt Selah.
He stood there quietly, feeling the evening breeze.
Then, Lindsey and Selah emerged from the bar, their laughter spilling into the night, with Nicolas trailing behind.
Catching sight of Selah, Nicolas feigned indifference as he offered, âMiss Potter, Miss Stewart, itâs getting late.
May I offer you a ride home?â
Despite their celebrity status, which usually meant heavy security, Nicolas and Selah appeared approachable.
Arturo, however, recognized Sel
ah immediately as she turned.
His gaze widened in shock.
Was she really here tonight?
Watching Selah stand close to Nicolas, a sharp discomfort pricked Arturoâs gaze.
Discarding his cigarette, he closed the distance in a few strides and grasped Selahâs arm.
âSelah, where are you going? Let me drive you.
â
Selahâs reaction to Arturoâs sudden approach was a cold shrug as she freed herself and turned to Nicolas with a polite smile.
âIâd love to.
Thank you, Mr.
Aston.
â
Nicolas shot a quick look at Arturo and then invited Selah warmly, âThis way, please.
â
Selah didnât glance back at Arturo, instead walking away with Lindsey and Nicolas.
Frustrated, Arturoâs hands formed tight fists, his eyes burning with fury.
He pulled out his phone and dialed Mercerâs number.
Mercer had left the bar earlier than Arturo and Domenic and was now lounging in the car.
Recognizing Arturoâs number, he answered promptly.
âWhatâs up, Arturo? Whatâs the problem now?â
âGet back here and tell your brother to back off from Selah.
If not, Iâll find a way to get him banned.
â
Mercer was still reeling when the line went dead.
What just happened? How on earth did his brother get mixed up with Selah and tick off Arturo?
A headache was starting to pound in Mercerâs temples.
Why was he so unlucky tonight?
