Chapter 56
Heartbreak Brings Mr. Right
âGood news, Mr.
Walsh!â she blurted as soon as the call connected.
âI passed the interview!â
On the other end of the Line, Domenic was sitting in Emilioâs office, drumming his fingers on the table.
The computer in front of him showed the email he had sent just now.
âCongratulations!â Domenic responded with a genuine smile.
âMr.
Walsh, youâre my lucky charm.
Since I met you, everything seems to be going my way!â
âIn that case, we should see each other more often,â Domenic teased.
âEven if you donât want to admit that weâre engaged, weâre still friends, arenât we?â
Lindseyâs face flushed a bright red.
âYes,â she replied shyly.
Emilio, who was sitting opposite Domenic, was dumbfounded.
Domenic looked so⦠What was the correct word-gentle? Tender? No, no, no.
These words couldnât possibly describe the cold, formidable Domenic.
âDomenic, you just smiled three times in a row.
Thatâs more than the total number of times youâve smiled since I met you years ago!â As soon as the call ended, Emilio couldnât help but blurt his thoughts.
However, Domenic simply shot him a cold glance, having returned to his usual aloof and distant self the moment he put the phone down.
âOnce Lindsey starts working here, look after her and report to me if anything happens.
â
âWhy do you care so much about her?â Emilio asked suspiciously.
Leaning back in his chair, Domenic answered casually, âBecause I want to find out her real purpose.
â
âThen just tie her up and force her to confess.
Why go through all this effort?â Emilio squinted at Domenic with a knowing smile.
âYou seem to have all kinds of ideas in that small brain of yours, Domenic commented, his eyes piercing right through Emilio like a knife.
Frightened, the latter immediately shut his mouth.
Soon after the interview, Lindsey started working for Vitality Entertainment as an intern.
Only after graduation could she go through the proper hiring formalities.
On her first day of work, her supervisor sent her to pick someone up at the airport.
The person she was going to pick up was a newly signed female artist, whose stage name was Jasmine.
There was little information about this person.
Lindsey made it to the airport very early in the morning.
She came prepared, holding up a sign with Jasmineâs name on it, even going so far as to bring a cup of iced coffee for the artist.
After waiting for a long time, Lindsey saw a woman with long black hair, black sunglasses, and a fashionable dress walking toward her.
Somehow, even from afar, she felt that this figure looked so familiar.
