Chapter 71
Heartbreak Brings Mr. Right
Frowning, Domenic hung up without hesitation and followed Lindsey to the end of the corridor.
âTake your time in there.
Iâm going back to the room, okay?â Lindsey shouted at the menâs room.
As soon as she turned around, she bumped into a rock-hard chest.
The pleasant and familiar smell of cedar wood filled her nose, sending her into a trance.
Ever so slowly, she raised her head and met Domenicâs dark eyes.
âMr.
Wal-â
Just as Lindsey opened her mouth in surprise, Domenic suddenly grabbed her by the arm and dragged her into the storage room next to the bathrooms, slamming the door behind them.
The space was so cramped that the two people had to stand within inches of each other.
Domenicâs strong chest heaved in front of her, and she could feel his warm breath on the top of her head.
She felt that sheâd bump into his chiseled jawline if she tried to raise her head.
âWhat are you doing here?â Domenic asked in a tense voice, trying hard to suppress his anger.
âWho was that man?â
Lindsey blushed and planted her palms against his chest in a weak attempt to push him away.
âMr.
Walsh, letâs get out of here first.
I can barely breathe in here.
â
âAre you in such a hurry to see that man?â Dominic sneered unhappily.
She had already slept with him, but she had the audacity to date another man behind his back!
Stunned, Lindsey slowly raised her head to look at Domenic in bewilderment.
Why did she get the feeling that he was⦠jealous?
âs BunnyBookery
âHeâs just one of the clubâs male escorts.
Donât get me wrong.
Todayâs my best friendâs birthday, and she insisted on ordering an escort for me.
I couldnât refuse her no matter how hard I tried.
â
Lindsey didnât feel the need to hide anything from him, so she explained the situation calmly while looking straight at him.
Domenic looked at the woman standing mere inches away from him.
She was neither humble nor pushy, which made him believe she was telling the truth.
But it was her slightly pursed pink lips that distracted him from his momentary jealousy.
Now, all he wanted to do was ki*s her.
The twoâs breaths intertwined, and in the quiet storage room, they felt as though they could hear each otherâs heartbeats.
âDid you drink?â Domenic suddenly asked in a low voice.
âDonât you know how I look when I drink?â Lindsey retorted unhappily.
âAs for you âLindsey leaned closer towards Domenicâs neck and took a whiff.
âYou reek of alcohol!â
This simple gesture caused Domenicâs throat to go dry, his Adamâs apple bobbing up and down.
Yes, he indeed had drunk tonight.
Otherwise, why else did he suddenly have the impulse to ki*s her at this time?
But the woman in front of him couldnât read his mind.
She just blinked and looked at him innocently, waiting for a response.
When she didnât get one, she took the initiative to break the silence.
âWell, I explained myself already.
Can we go out now? Itâs so stuffy in here.
â
