Chapter 887
Heartbreak Brings Mr. Right
Nancy hadnât anticipated Lindseyâs steely resolve.
She had grown weary of these people long ago, but for Lindsey and the companyâs sake, she hoped to settle things amicably.
Now, witnessing Lindseyâs unwavering determination to take them head
-on, Nancyâs resolve ignited.
She straightened up, snapped to reality, and replied briskly, âRight away!â
Once Nancy departed, Lindsey retrieved her phone and looked for
Reeceâs number, the lawyer who had helped Selah before.
Selah had passed his number along, though Lindsey hadnât had cause to use it since their previous matter was resolved.
But now, only Reece could help her.
She dialed the number.
It took some time before someone answered.
âHello, whoâs this?â
âMr.
Barton, itâs Lindsey Stewart.
â
âLindsey? Still groggy from sleep, Reece perked up at the name, sitting up in bed.
Sensing he could have been too eager, he quickly amended.
âOh, Miss Stewart.
Why the early call?â
âMr.
Barton, you helped Selah win her case last time.
Iâve been meaning to invite you to dinner.
Are you available tonight?â Her tone, gentle and polite, made it difficult to decline.
Bunny Bookery
Reece happened to have a free evening and after a momentâs thought, he replied, âSure, I have no plans tonight.
â
âPerfect.
Letâs meet at Whispering Mist at 7 pm.
â
After ending the call, Lindsey leaned back.
This was her distraction, piling on tasks to drown out thoughts of
Domenic, if only temporarilyâ¦
Under Jordanâs direction, Carole arrived at the Vitality Group for her first day.
Domenic instructed his chief secretary, Emilee Lambert, to assist her and find her a spot in the office.
Carole had hoped being around Domenic would afford her more opportunities to interact with him.
But all morning, he was in the conference room, only reaching out to Hendrix if necessary.
His office remained quiet throughout the morning.
Despite spending the entire morning there, Carole hadnât crossed paths with Domenic once.
Nonetheless, she kept herself busy, asking
Emilee questions and searching for chances.
It wasnât until noon that Domenic returned to his office from the meeting.
Learning of this, Emilee brewed him a coffee, as was the routine after meetings.
Seeing Emilee with the coffee, Carole rose from her seat and approached her swiftly, murmuring, âIs that coffee for Dom⦠Mr.
Walsh?â
The secretary nodded with a smile.
âYes.
â
âLet me take it.
I have nothing to do here.
Trust me with this.
â
Emilee hesitated.
âMiss Larson, as Mr.
Walshâs fiancée, I canât let you do that.
Heâs instructed me to look after you.
â
