Chapter 892
Heartbreak Brings Mr. Right
âLindsey, what a surprise to see you here.
â
Lindsey returned the greeting with a polite smile.
âMiss Larson, itâs been a while.
â
âYou two know each other as well?â Reece asked, surprised.
Carole, still smiling, replied, âI met her once on the show of âStar Searchâ.
â
Bunny Bookery
Lindsey cast a quick glance her way.
Carole had mentioned theyâd only met once, clearly avoiding the fact that sheâd invited her to her engagement party and even enlisted her help in picking out a ring.
Lindsey remained silent.
Reece scratched his head and admitted, âI see.
Iâve seen all your shows, yet somehow I managed to forget that.
â
âYou are so forgetful,â Carole teased.
âBy the way, you and Lindsey areâ¦â she trailed off, giving them a once-over.
Domenic, standing just behind her, narrowed his eyes slightly.
âI represent Miss Stewartâs company legally.
Iâve assisted her with a lawsuit before.
Sheâs here today to express her gratitude for the previous victory in court,â Reece explained, hoping to offer Carole a full picture.
It seemed he had no reservations about sharing details with Carole.
As he wrapped up his explanation, a soft cough sounded from behind
Carole.
Only then did Reece realize Domenic had been standing there all along.
He looked a bit anxious, concerned he might have inadvertently ignored Domenic by focusing so much on Carole.
âWhy are you standing all the way over there, Domenic? Come join us,â
Reece called out, gesturing for him to come closer.
In a move to seat Carole next to Domenic, Reece stood and took the seat beside Lindsey.
Out of the corner of his eye, Domenic had been stealing glances at
Lindsey.
Since his arrival, she hadnât once met his gaze directly, as though she was a stranger to him.
âDomenic, why donât we share a table?â
Domenic remained motionless, prompting Reece to give him a warm, reassuring smile.
Turning to Carole, Domenic explained, âThe table my grandpa reserved isnât here.
We should probably move on.
â
Yet, Carole, catching sight of Lindsey seated quietly, offered a slight smile and said, âItâs been ages since Iâve seen Reece.
Weâre all here by chance; why not sit together and catch up?â
Reece and Domenic had been childhood neighbors in the same luxurious villa district.
Reece often visited Domenic, and during those visits, he became acquainted with Carole.
