“Get in,” Domenic said, stepping forward to open the door for her, his eyes softening as they met hers.

Lindsey hesitated.

“To the hospital to see my mom,” Lindsey replied.

“He’s here to see Mom,” Lindsey explained softly, feeling lost as to how to summarize the whirlwind events of the past few days.

“But why?” Leonel glared at Domenic, then shifted his gaze to Lindsey.

“Didn’t you two break up? What’s going on? Are you two back together? I’m telling you, don’t even think about getting our blessing!”
