Chapter 670: 670: Thanks for the Invitation
Daddy! Come Home for Dinner!
So Cindy went to queue up for beverages and snacks, while Adrian found a place to sit.
Even though it was just for a day, the feeling of being supported by Cindy was surprisingly interesting.
Adrian was all ready to be fed for the day.
Looking at the back of Cindy lining up, he clicked on the search he had just done for help.
There were still questions within the answering period.
Adrian typed in, âThanks for the invitation, coming to the movie theater for a date is a good choice. Iâm in the theater now, waiting for the movie to start. She bought the tickets and snacks, and I didnât spend a penny, itâs great.â
Adrian wanted to say that it was his own wife, though.
But if he said that, he wouldnât be able to brag.
They were all members of the same family, and his wifeâs spending was also the familyâs money.
Furthermore, after getting married, the financial power is in the wifeâs hands.
Isnât it normal for the wife to spend money when going out?
Thus, Adrian deliberately blurred the concept.
After a while, he refreshed the page, and there were replies.
âStop bragging!â
âBro, youâre a 666 (Internet slang meaning awesome)!â
âPost a picture to prove it?â
Adrian ignored them.
Who would post a photo for them? Thatâs too good for them!
Just then, Cindy came over with a large bucket of popcorn and two cups of Coke.
Adrian looked up and quickly helped her take it.
They ate and drank while waiting until it was time to enter the auditorium.
Halfway through the movie, Adrian received a call from Morgan.
To avoid suddenly disrupting the movie for others, he put his mobile phone on vibrate.
He could still feel it in his pocket.
Upon taking it out, he didnât expect it to be a call from Morgan.
That little guy was so carefree that Adrian didnât think he missed them.
Moreover, if Morgan really missed them, he should be looking for Cindy instead.
There must be something up.
Adrian then told Cindy, âIâll go out to take a call.â
Cindy thought it was work-related and casually nodded.
Adrian went out first.
âWhatâs up?â Outside the auditorium, Adrian answered the call.
âDad, Cindyâs parents and sister have come to Great Grandfather and Great Grandmotherâs place!â The little guy crawled into the rockery and called Adrian.
âAre they at the family mansion now?â Adrian asked.
âYes, I just saw them in the courtyard,â Morgan replied.
âDid they see you?â Adrian asked again.
âI donât know. I was playing in the snow in the courtyard. They must have seen me,â Morgan guessed, âBut they didnât come to talk to me, they probably donât know who I am.â
âOkay,â Adrian nodded, âYou donât have to hide in the courtyard, just go back when youâre done playing. They should be in the Main Hall, so avoid it, and donât let them see you.â
âOtherwise, theyâll cause trouble for you in the Nursery again,â Adrian instructed.
âI know,â Morgan nodded, knowing how smart he is, and thought about it. âIâll have Grandpa Gardener take me along. If I run into them, Iâll hide behind him!â
âYou handle it yourself,â Adrian instructed the little one before not worrying about Morgan anymore.
He had more confidence in the little guyâs ability to adapt and react.
He had no idea that Morgan was only four years old and was so carefree.
âBut they must not come for good things. Maybe theyâre here to talk bad about Cindy!â Morgan pouted.
If they really caused trouble for Cindy and were kicked out of the Zhekova Family, it wouldnât do them any good.
Normally, people wouldnât do something that harms others without benefiting themselves.
But if it were the Clarke Family, they might actually do it.
Adrian couldnât understand their thought process.
A four-year-old child could think things through clearly, but the Clarke Family operated in a unique way.
Of course, they themselves were not normal.
Normal people naturally couldnât communicate with their thought patterns.
âI understand,â Adrian said, âDonât worry about it, and donât try to eavesdrop. They might see you.â
But Morganâs curiosity was excessive.
Even if Adrian told him not to do it, the little one might not listen.
Adrian knew him too well, so to prevent Morgan from acting on his own and causing problems again,
Adrian said, âIf you really want to listen, ask Butler Howard, Aunt Evans, or anyone else in the family mansion to put a walkie-talkie or something in the Main Hall for you. You can listen in another room without crouching in the corner and getting tired.â
After all, the family mansion had bodyguards and eavesdropping devices were not in short supply.
Morganâs eyes lit up, âDad, youâre so smart!â
âOf course,â Adrian straightened his already very straight posture.
His wisdom was not something this little guy could compare to!
The little one was very surprised and didnât expect his father to support him so much!
Adrian even helped him think of solutions!
That was so considerate!
âBut no matter what they say, donât panic,â Adrian instructed, âBe angry but donât impulsively confront them. Donât forget, thereâs still Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother.â
âTrust Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother. They wonât be deceived by the Clarke Familyâs words or be confused. Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother always stand by our side.â
âThey know the grievances and bullying Cindy has suffered. They like Cindy and wonât listen to the words of the Clarke Family members. Whatever the Clarke family says, Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother will deal with them.â
âSo, donât get involved,â Adrian warned.
âI know,â Morgan crisply replied, âI believe in Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother.â
âTheyâre so smart; they wonât be fooled by the Clarke family,â Morgan said.
âYou be good,â Adrian told him, âWeâll be back soon.â
âOkay,â Morgan finished and hung up the phone.
After hanging up, Adrian returned to the auditorium.
Upon finding their seat and sitting down, Cindy asked, âWas it something important?â
âNot urgent,â Adrian replied, âDonât worry about it.â
Cindy nodded, and since Adrian said so, she didnât think about it anymore.
She watched the movie intently until the end.
As they left, Cindy was still reminiscing about the film.
âNo wonder this movie has such high ratings,â Cindy commented, âItâs really good. When itâs released on the Video Platform, I want to watch it again.â
âCall me when you do, and Iâll watch it with you,â Adrian said with a smile.
âOkay,â Cindy nodded.
Seeing Cindy in such a good mood, Adrian had to dampen the spirits, âActually, halfway through the movie just now, it was Morgan who called.â
âMorgan? What happened?â Cindy asked in surprise.
