Chapter 746: 746: Distributing Flyers
Daddy! Come Home for Dinner!
âYouâre the one spouting nonsense!â Mr. Lopez pointed at Wendy Clarke, enraged. âI only wanted the son you gave birth to. I gave you money, you gave me a son, and weâre even! I canât believe you actually had the nerve to use me!â
âIf I didnât want my son to know what bottom-feeder his mother is, I would have brought him here today as a witness, believe me!â roared Mr. Lopez.
âYouâre just throwing baseless accusations? Trying to smear my reputation?â Wendy Clarke bit down hard on their lack of evidence. As long as she didnât admit anything, they had no recourse.
Unexpectedly, Mrs. Lopez calmly pulled a document out of her bag.
âThis is the paternity test report of Wendy Clarke and my son.â Mrs. Lopez hoisted the document up, âIf anyone is curious and wants to know the truth, feel free to pass it around.â
The second she finished speaking, Wendy Clarkeâs face changed and she tried to snatch the document out of her hands.
She didnât know whether the report was genuine or not.
But since Mrs. Lopez dared to say so, she didnât dare to gamble.
She was puzzled as to when Mrs. Lopez had gotten a hold of her things for the test.
But there was no time to think about that now.
Just as Wendy Clarke reached out, Mrs. Lopez had already swiftly passed the report to the nearest guest.
The guest read the report.
It contained information about Wendy Clarke and Mr. Lopezâs son.
The final conclusion of the test confirmed beyond a doubt that they were mother and son.
âItâs mother and son!â
The guest cried out in astonishment.
Other guests also eagerly asked, âLet me see, let me also see.â
All the guests present were well-known figures.
Yet, faced with this new scandal, they threw caution to the wind.
They desperately clamored to see it, utterly consumed by gossip.
At this moment, Mrs. Lopez sneered, âItâs clear that you were the one who had a child for money.â
âYour family in Nork City was of a subpar economic level. Where did the sudden influx of money come from that allowed them to open a restaurant and live in a villa?â Mrs. Lopez coldly said, âItâs because you made a deal with my husband and sold your womb for the money.â
âNo!â Wendy Clarkeâs face changed, âIt was Cindy Clarke! Cindy Clarke exchanged 10 million!â
Mrs. Lopez sneered, âDo you think everyone here is a fool? Cindy Clarke gave away 10 million so the family could open a restaurant, and she didnât better herself, but instead ran to Belfard to start from scratch, penniless?â
Mr. Lopez also chided, âYouâre just envious of Cindy Clarke and making malicious accusations, but you canât drag my family into your mess. We donât owe you anything!â
âYou say thereâs no evidence, well, weâve produced the paternity test.â Mr. Lopez declared, âThe child was born by you, and it has nothing to do with anyone else.â
âIf you still say thereâs no evidence, then what about these!â Mr. Lopez took several photos from his pocket and held them up for everyone to see.
The people nearby gasped in surprise.
The photos were of Wendy Clarke, nude.
There was nothing to hide her.
âWhere did these come from!â Wendy Clarke exclaimed, shrieking in madness.
âYou didnât think Iâd keep some evidence for myself, did you?â Mr. Lopez sneered.
âYou think youâre so smart, trying to use me to maliciously accuse someone else. But little do you know, youâre just a clown in our eyes!â Mr. Lopez stated.
âI may not be anything special, but Iâve been in the shopping mall business for many years and I know how to judge character,â Mr. Lopez sneered, âHow could I not know what type of person you are?â
âDid you think I asked you to have the baby because I found you attractive?â
Mr. Lopez gave a derisive chuckle, âTo be honest, youâre just okay. But I saw that you were greedy and ambitious. Yet, at the same time, you were crafty. Thatâs why I felt it was safe to choose you. I gave you money and you wouldnât air your dirty laundry.â
âYou wanted to climb up the social ladder and this was a dark part of your past that youâd naturally want to keep hidden,â Mr. Lopez stated, âChoosing you was a much lesser risk than choosing someone else.â
âI never would have thought; I originally thought you were pretty clever, but it turns out youâre a fool.â Mr. Lopez said scornfully, âYou think youâre so smart, concocting this scheme to wrong others, and you even want to drag me down with you.â
âHonestly, if you didnât involve me, I wouldnât care how you trap others. Thatâs not my business. But now, youâve dragged me into it. You never considered what would happen to me if your scheme were to succeed.â
âYou have a grudge with someone. What did I ever do to you! Or were you trying to kill with a borrowed knife? If you successfully frame someone else, you could use the same blade to kill me too. That way, your secret that you donât want to be exposed, would never come to light.â
Mr. Lopez accurately guessed Wendy Clarkeâs thoughts.
Wendy Clarke was hell-bent on getting rid of Cindy Clarke, and she certainly didnât care about Mr. Lopezâs well-being.
Did she really think that Mr. Lopez wouldnât consider the outcome of her actions?
Wendy Clarke thought of it, but felt that it served him right.
There wouldnât be a good outcome for Cindy Clarke in this, and Mr. Lopez wouldnât be able to escape it.
She might as well take advantage of Adrian Zhekova to eliminate Mr. Lopez.
Two birds with one stone.
âHmph!â Mr. Lopez snorted, âToo bad, while you think youâre smart, Iâm not a fool either. Moreover, you are even more stupid than I thought!â
âEven if I chose you, I would never trust you completely. I had to have a backup plan. I never thought you would try to kill me with a borrowed knife. I just assumed that you wouldnât be satisfied with 10 million and that you would want more money.â
âAnd then there would be a second and a third time. How many times could you ask me for money? Would it ever end?â Mr. Lopez said.
He chuckled, âSo, I took these photos. I thought if you ever tried to blackmail me, I would release these.â
âI didnât expect they would come in handy this time.â Mr. Lopez showed the photos to the crowd.
âEveryone, take a good look. This is Wendy Clarke. These are photos I took just in case.â Mr. Lopez shouted.
He laughed, âI didnât look for a surrogate, I went straight to bed with her. Not just once or twice, but until I could ensure she was pregnant.â
âI owe an apology to my wife for doing such a thing, and I accept whatever consequences come my way. But itâs far better than being used by this slut!â
âEveryone, take a good look. This is Wendy Clarke. I did not manipulate the photos. If anyone doubts it, feel free to have it examined. You can even take it with you and have a tech-savvy friend look at it.â
âThe photo is real, so Iâm not afraid of any inspection.â Mr. Lopez confidently said.
Looking at him, people felt that he was not making false accusations.
âWe⦠take it?â someone gaped in astonishment.
How could there be such a thing!
âPlease, go ahead.â Mr. Lopez casually distributed the photos in his hand like flyers.
Then he turned his head and looked at Mrs. Lopez with an appeasing smile.
